I need input... on who is the best website host? I have VistaPrint and not happy Empty I need input... on who is the best website host? I have VistaPrint and not happy

Post by novice tammy Tue Dec 17, 2013 8:48 pm

I currently have my website hosted by vistaprint... I've been searching for a different host like godaddy or something...In my search, I've ended up just more CONFUSED. No one just comes out and says... This is what it is and how much it is... I like to pay monthly instead of yearly... it's just easier with my income. I want a easy to use control panel (set-up/editing).

So, I was wondering what host you guys have? what's the pros & cons?

I was looking at your website and it says created at homestead. Do you use them for a host? or both? I know some people have multiple websites.

I've looked at both of of ya'll's sites and they're both nice... deciding is the hardest part... they ought to let you do a trail run on designing it.. and playing with all the features to see if its a fit for you before you actually sign up...

That should allow you to play with it.
I've found JustHost to be middle of the road with regards to price. I've been happy with customer service, their features, how-to vids, etc.

After several months, I was able to come up with a business name (Jazz-N-Dazzle) that I was also able to get a domain.com for. I signed up thru GoDaddy with the 3 year plan. It came to $165.00 total. ($4.60/mnth). That included domain renewals for three years, web hosting and sitebuilder. I've had a couple questions and they have been more than curteous and able to help. Even at 8:00 on a Sunday evening! I signed up originally just for the domain registration. The next day I decided to use them for hosting and building. They are offering the free domain, so they actually credited me back the registration cost. Hope this helps. I would call their Customer Service and talk with them. (480) 505-8877. They actually have a referral program that could help to offset your costs as well.

I LOVE my Yahoo business site. Easy to make yourself. And, including an extra $10 I pay for spam filter, I only pay $72. year and that includes the hosting and domain name. I also love that when you're done making it, you click "publish" and Yahoo puts it up for you. I can actually do a lot more things than what I did on mine. I think it was a great buy and has paid for itself over and over

I just used Wix.com. It's free if you let them put on ads. Super easy to build my site myself, and you can pay monthly or yearly if you want your own domain. www.colorsplashfacepainting.biz

I currently have wix, however my domain is through yahoo, and I can't use it with my wix, so I am switching. I think I will be able to rank easier on search engines with another account, hopefully anyways.

I used godaddy for my domain name and got a website through them. I hired someone to build it because I do not know html. After my site was done and up I lost control of it's contents. Long story for another time. I went to Weebly and got a free site html free and free of charge. I fooled around with it and in just a few days I knew what I was doing so I upgraded to the paid version and transferred my domain name to it. I love it. I am also learning html a little at a time and doing well with the SEO section. But I did not have to do that. I did it because I want a little more control in that section of my page. For one year it averages at 3.99 a month. I like it. Go Daddy had a site that was html free but I did not get it at all. It was too hard for me at the time.

thanks everyone for the feedback... I finally decided on weebly because of their selection of sites and it actually let me experiment with the design tools and I liked that. I bought a domain through them for $40 for the year and using the free weebly... so hopefully it will be great.

I love your website... very pretty! It seems you have the paid version because of your slideshow in the banner... A couple other things I like that I was wondering was part of the free one or paid was the note that pops up beside your comment box of your request form? the hit counter? and your comment section...

I guess you could put a hit counter on your page if you got one in another place and you understand html to put it there. But it is not necessary with Weebly because we have the Dashboard, the stats are collected there. Also, if you do not trust Weebly and want to use another party you can. That party is also free, well this one is for sure. It's called Google Analytics and it does more than just count visitors. It has many Webmaster tools that comes with it. Of course you must dig a bit and learn the codes and how to put them in your site and where. That part has been driving me crazy but I did it. Here is why I like it so much. For one thing Google is the biggest search engine out there then there is Bing. The great majority of people use Google so I want that part right that gets Google to find me. Google will find all of us one day but I want that day to be sooner rather then latter and near the top of the rankings. Then that takes time all by itself but if I can help it along why not. That is where you need to do some work in putting the correct html codes in and getting your meta tags and snipets right. That is where the SEO section comes in, search engine optimization. It only comes with the paid version, I think. You can pay for 6 months or 1 year. Of course you can trust Weebly to do that for you and hope they get it right, but I do not. If you don't know html and think it is impossible to learn it is not. It takes a lot of work time to do but if I can do it anyone can. It took me the good part of a month and I just finished last night tweaking that site more. I look at it almost every day and see what can I do to improve my site. It's become an obsession. Good luck! I hope I am making sense because I am not an expert just a novice in this area. I upgraded in just 2 days so I really don't remember if I was able to use the SEO or not. I was so green and did not even want to go there at that time, I just needed to build my site.

I forgot this. Go to moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo   There is so much help in there and if you are a DIY person you will need it. They have great info and easy to understand, pretty much. It helped me understand what I needed to do and why.
Or, go to http://www.w3counter.com/ and pick out the counter you want and get the code. Then go to your home page use the embed code button and copy and paste that code to your page.
