Henna Balm Empty Henna Balm

Post by CPFaces Thu Dec 31, 2009 6:07 pm

After recieving lots of requests for this after Fabbulas here is the recipe for an after henna balm that can be used to prolong your stain and protect it against things that can fade the designs such as chlorinated water.

I was reading on some other sites that a lot of henna artists offer henna balm to their clients. Its nice for aftercare .... the recipe to make it is

1 part cocoa or shea butter
1 part beeswax
1 part olive or coconut oil

You can then add some scent to it with an essential oil.
You have to melt the wax in a double boiler being careful not to get it too hot and then add the cocoa/shea and oil to that mixing it up well and then adding a few drops of an essential oil. You can also add mica/shimmer powder to it as well, for a pretty sheen on top of your design.

Some people put it in candy molds... like you can find at a craft store, or you can get some small 'balm' tins and put it in that. Something to sell for a few bucks perhaps?

I recommend before showering or washing dishes to keep chlorinated water off it. Alot of ppl like it as a night regimen almost like a night cream
