I had a go with Henna.....
I thought I'd share my Henna gig I did on the weekend at a psychic expo. It wasn't as busy as I would have hoped, however I really enjoyed doing the Henna. I was a bit nervous as this was only my second Henna gig. I graciously derive all my inspiration from the emensley talented Kim Brennan a heartfelt thankyou to you Kim. I watched you on FABA & just loved seeing you in action. You are so full of information & design ideas without you I would probably still be wondering if "I" could actually do Henna.
When people were curious about what Henna looked like I showed them my Henna on my hand, by the end of the day I was so embarrassed about my nails. This is my before pic ugly nails. LOL
That night I put some falsey's on. This is my after pic.

I like it a lot! Especialy the last 3. I always do my nails for jobs now..but even after years of doing henna I always have one scuzzy brown henna finger...no matter how neat I am it happens

Hi Mandi! I'm so glad you are giving it a go and loving it!
I can see by your last pic that your getting your consistancy down and your line work is improving! You are off to a fantastic start! Keep practicing like crazy so you can get your speed and consistant line work up before your next gig and keep up the good work. You are on your way!!! I can't tell you how much I thank you for your kindness and I am so glad you are enjoying henna and for letting me know that you enjoyed it!

Re: I had a go with Henna.....
Thanks Riana.
Thanks Kim, the last two pics are done with a jac bottle & the other pics are done with a cone. Testing them both out to see which I feel the most comfortable with. I do like the cone for it's ease & no blocking, but I do feel I need to do more practice practice practice to get my line consistancy much neater. I also feel my nerves had a play in my unsteady lines too!! Although I know the more I practice this too shall pass. Thanks all for your input.

I love it! My husband bought me a kit for Christmas, two years ago, and I have been to scared to use it .
I think I will have to open it up soon a practice.
Do you make your own henna or do you by it?
Just wondering.
Thanks
Amy

If it was a premade cone or a tube of some sort, It's probably not good anymore. you have to be careful with some of those kits, they don't always contain just safe henna and ingredients. Maybe post a pic and we can see.
I recommend making your own. It's dirt cheap and not hard. It takes a little while to get your measurements down so you have the right consistency and sticky.
All you need to just fiddle around at home, is Henna powder, lemon juice and sugar.
It gets a bit more complicated as you go, but that's all you need to start playing with it.

It looks great. Made me want to break out my henna and do some practice.
