Flying with Face paint?
I'm flying to fabaic for the first time this year, and I'm wondering what the policies are for bringing on all of my face paint gear. Obviously liquids have to be in the small containers, but has anyone ever had a problem with your regular kit of solid cakes? I just don't fly often so I'm not sure and would hate to find something out the hard way.

Dear SaraM:
First off...
weird trivia:
"Paint" is on the "No-Fly" list. Do not refer to your face paint as "Paint", in case you are confronted by a "by the book" person with NO sense of intelligence regarding the use of the word "Paint".
Call it "Face Make Up", or "Maquillage" or "Chuck" or something.
Do not take the brushes in your carry on. Put it into your checked through luggage.
Glitter always inside a ziploc, unless you need your luggage and clothing to look like a unicorn exploded on you.
Bring less than you need... you can always buy stuff on site.
Happy FABAICing!!!!

Re: Flying with Face paint?
I do carry my "Face Make Up" in my Zuca Pro bag on wheels on the plane. I place my brushes, glitter wand, tiny little scissors in my checked on luggage. My paint is my baby. I would not check it.
I had a glitter incident,
which is why I recommended that you ziploc your glitter.

Re: Flying with Face paint?
I check my paint but as a gun case it gets special treatment & sent into the office to be held for me...
Re: Flying with Face paint?
I've been through several airports with various amounts of paint. The only time I've been pulled aside and swabbed was in Amarillo, TX where they were super slow anyway. He was kind of obnoxious too, asking me trip-up questions but it was still only an extra 10 minutes. Other than that, it's made it through the x-ray without problems.
I would definitely carry on, like Fess said, my paints don't leave me, just leave yourself enough time for a pull aside at security if necessary.

I am taking my face make up on a carry on .... I painted two paint cases to take .... down sized. taking some glitter, spray bottle .. brushes... cake make up and starblend and this and that. Here are the pictures of the two cases. They were plain paint case and i painted on the tops.. no mistakes this way...lol
