Rolling Toolbox? Empty Rolling Toolbox?

Post by ashovoxo Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:15 am

Is the Fatmax everyone's favorite by far? And if so why? I know Suzie uses the Plano one and i love it but i live in Florida and they don't have it here. My paint stash i growing at an alarming rate lol So I need a place to store everything. So if anyone has pictures or has other brands and can post a picture I would love it Smile

If you don't want something as big as the fat max try this one http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=ZAG+ROLLING+WORK&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=STST18613&SDesc=Stanley%26%23153%3B+3-in-1+Mobile+Workcenter
you can't work out of it you will need a table but it's just a little smaller than the max.

I started with a fishing box and I think I can still fit my stuff on it, I just can't give up my fat max, even when I have a fly to stairs (worse time was 4th floor but the birthday mom help me ) I do LOVE my fat max, when I go to work I just need her, is so comfy to have everything in it, the laptops cases with paint I just open them and I am ready to start working, the glitter tattoo kid is there ready anytime and I don't even need a table.

I have a fatmax, it is great to keep everything organized and for when you are going to a place where tables aren't available. Today I painted for the St. Jude Walk and I used it. I carry everything, paint, glitter, wipes and even my water.

If I go to a child's birthday party at a home I used to bring. 2 small bag until I watched Shawna D's you tube video of her packing her kit, I loved it so much that I got the bag with a 50%off coupon at Michaels.

Good luck!

How much is the fat max? My stash is also getting to be to much for my backpack... Do you not need a table with it? Is this the one everyone is in love with? http://www.thetoolworkshop.com/stanleytoolszagfmmobileworkstation020800r.aspx

I paid around $70 give or take.
when you open it you can work out of it while standing, not sure if others use it while sitting, I have a tall directors chair because sitting was hurting my back really bad.

Yea, I sit now but I have scoliosis and the sitting is getting to be to much. I saw a director chair for under $10 at goodwill and I am kicking myself for not grabbing it!

I can't paint out of the fat max while standing. Sitting was awesome. I did find a folding table that is really tall that works well and the fat max goes under. I do have to unpack most of the max. But I can have my max and my table too.

Yea, it was a tall one Sad it had someone elses logo on it, totally could have swapped out the fabric though. I still sort of resent the hubby over that one since he was the one who thought I could find a deal on a new one. Now I know to always trust my gut! Mad

I did some extensive comparisons and I think I am just going to hold out for the Fat Max...I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2OLrzYryvM and I LOVE the way the top can be used as a table! I hate hauling a table!

In Canada, the average price is $130 for a fat max, but shop around and wait for deals or sales. I've had mine for 4 years and still works great. I have downsized for smaller gigs to a tote and small bag, much easier to pack and carry. You also have to take into consideration your vehicle size with a Fat max, how it will sit in your vehicle can also decide how and what you pack into it

Home Depot has the best price and there is one right down the street from me Wink I have a Ford Explorer and should have plenty of room, I keep my table and chairs in the back now. Hopefully I can eliminate the table by using a fat max!

Awe, thank you ashovoxo, this was my look for last Saturday when i painted for the St. Jude's Walk.

That's the fatmax I have, it does no have a table but when you open the top lid you can use it as a table. I put my laptop case with paints there. Just like she had on the video. It does not hold heavy stuff though.

If you do a search you can find several people who added a board on top and support for he lid.
