My first booth! Empty My first booth!

Post by MissHeidi Mon Oct 29, 2012 11:03 pm

So, I did a festival last weekend. It was just okay. The organizer told me that there would be "a" church group offering free face painting so I decided to go ahead and pay the $60 for a booth. Turns out there were at least 3 churches painting (badly) for free. Live and learn. I earned back my booth fee and then some, so it wasn't a complete loss, but I had turned down other jobs to be there! Anyway, I tried to look back on the forum to thank whomever I got the fabulous idea for the glittery letters and the PVC display, but I could not find it again. If you are reading this - thank you!! So, here's my first booth, what do you think?

It looks great! What are the things dangling down the legs of the tent. Are they flowers?

Kara - I bought 2 packs of Hawaiian Leis from the dollar store. They came three to a pack. I cut them and tied them into a long string and them wrapped them around the pole of my tent like garland. $2 worth of decorations!

Wow. I'm impressed with how organized you look. So unfair about the freebies. I can fight one free face painter but 3 is a little much. Sad

Denise - that means A LOT coming from you!! And that's exactly what I told the organizer. I asked her to please not accept a booth fee from a pro next year if she was going to let the churches paint for free again next year.

It WAS kind of nice to hear the kids whine to their parents "Ugh - there's a REAL face painter here!! Can I get a re-do??"
