Hey ladies! I have the Snaz Ultimate Party Palette, with a bunch of those bitty colors. They're fine for brushes, but it's really hard to jam a sponge into the little hole. I know I probably will branch out to other brands, but this is what I have right now and I at least want to use it for practicing. So how do I make it easier to use? Take it out of the flimsy plastic case and mush it into the spaces of a medicine box? Split cakes? What do you think?

Thanks for your help!

I used the walkaround palette exclusively for my first year as a face painter. Cut your sponges in half... I actually kind of liked loading my sponges while mushed up, get the whole surface loaded at once. But those little ones wouldn't last me one weekend now.

I had the walk around palette when I 1st started, I bought a watercolor palette from Michael's, 1.99 maybe? I took all the paint out and replaced it with the Snazaroo. The palette is flat so using your sponge should not be an issue.

I cut all my sponges into 4 pieces. The only time I use even 1/2 a sponge is with larger rainbow cakes for butterflies. 1/4 sponge would fit perfect.

Tina, I also cut them into 1/4's, I find them more manageable. But even though the sponges are cut into 4 it is still hard to get paint on them because the holes are so small and deep.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. Smaller sponges--so simple, but I didn't have a clue! Maggie, when I get a chance to go to Michaels, I'll see what they have. I'd also like to get the paint in a more convenient container.

You guys are the best!
