Hi from Singapore!
Hello everyone! My name is Simone and I'm a paintaholic
I first picked up a paintbrush and played with face paints in mid-July this year after volunteering to paint at a charity event and have been hooked since. Who knew how addictive colour and glitter could be ... hahahahaha! By day, I work in IT and by night (and weekends), I'm a painting fiend. My four-year-old loves being painted and has tried her hand at painting momma too - she's not too bad for a little kid. LOL!
So happy to have found this Forum - what a wonderful inspiration this place is and what generous souls who freely share information and insights. Thanks to everyone!! I hope to be able to contribute as well.
Cheers!

Re: Hi from Singapore!
Welcome! We have a newbie challenge going on if you are interested. It is just a place for us new-er painters to post and practice!
Cant wait to see what type of flare you bring to our group!
With such a different art background in South East Asia is their facepaint technique different from most of us western-ers?

Re: Hi from Singapore!
Thanks for the warm welcome! This truly is such a supportive, inspiring place.
amylady222, I'll check out the newbie challenge - sounds exciting! Interesting question you asked about FP techniques. Quite honestly, I'm not sure. FP isn't a huge thing here, but it's catching on. So far, I've met only one face-painter here and she's a newbie too
I know my style right now is influenced by what I see on the Internet, but expect that it will evolve as i learn more.

Re: Hi from Singapore!
Why are you in Singapore? If you don't mind me asking?
What a great chance to have fun---I love the Asian face! SO beautiful! My husband lived in Korea for a while and we had an exchange student about a year ago for 10 months. In fact I had a dream that I went to Korea and painted faces at our exchange students school. I had 100 kids lined up and they were all so excited and I was painting like crazy! In my dream I made a ton of money and became famous over there!! HA! How is that for wishing dreaming!!
Can't wait to see your stuff!
