Logo choice - please help
Hi,
I've been working on some logo ideas. Apparently the initial ones I worked on were too fussy/busy.
Here are two final 'simpler' ideas.
Could you please advise me as to which you prefer?
Thanks very much!

Re: Logo choice - please help
If I had to pick between the two, I would go with first one. Something about the way the brush tapers in the corner doesn't look right to me though.

Okay, here's my idea! Let me know what you think. If you like it, I can send you a bigger copy, or a transparent background one.

That is beautiful!
Thank you so much Janna, my email is: fancythatfacepainting@ymail.com
I'd love whichever you'd send me!
Thanks for your opinions all, I guess my logo-picker/designing skills are a bit on the wanting side

Sent!
And thanks everybody. I like designing logos... except for when it comes to my own.

I find it stinkin' hard to come up with a logo, can't think of something nice and catchy!
You did a really nice job, Janna!

Hey, Janna, you wouldn't be interested in designing a logo for me, would you??? I have been trying to come up with one, but Naples Face Art is such a generic name that I don't even know where to start.

Sure, I could take a stab at it. Do you have any ideas for it?
Re: Logo choice - please help
I was kind of working with a paint brush and palette idea, but it didn't really look that great.
Re: Logo choice - please help
I know what you mean about logos being hard we still haven't come up with one for ours but since our company name grew out of our stage name. When my Daughter asked me to join her in her magic act not as an assistant but as a partner like Penn and Teller we became G & G Magic. When we decided we might get more leads for gigs if we learned to be clowns we changed the magic to entertainment but found out there are a few businesses with that name we just added and art. So now we're G & G Entertainment and Art. So how do you encompass painter, clown, and magician in one logo. We do know our business colors are purple, pink. and aqua.
Re: Logo choice - please help
Janna, that is wonderful work...we are having our van done and what I wanted was a large comical paint brush dripping paint with the faces in the paint drops..
You got me with the paint brush.
So fantastic that you would share your talent and help out...if we all do that we will all be successful, brimming bank accounts and HAPPY!
Often people ask me why I do something and I'm wondering why they didn't they were more skilled than me...I do it if I can and to me if you can you should. That's just me...OH and you surpassed any of my cans!

Wow, Janna! I'm with everyone else here. LOVE it!!
You are obviously talented in this area. I see a door opening for you here on the forum So many of us are in the same rut with creating our logos and/or what's the one-liner called that every business should have? Motto? Catch-phrase? Whatever. You know what I mean.
Not to stuff us all into a stereotypical box or anything, but it seems true by my observations anyway, that a lot of artists are not necessarily the strongest business-sense types. Some people in our industry are very business oriented, but not me. I have just enough to get by, but not enough in the marketing department to really grow like I want to and increase revenue like I could. The very WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN and especially HOW-TO of Sales/Marketing myself and my business escapes me and leaves me with more questions than answers.
You might find a little side-line business for yourself here girl! Maybe we can't afford to pay a "professional graphic artist or marketing specialist", but if it WERE affordable, I think we'd jump on it! We all know how important making that first impression is.
Just a thought

Re: Logo choice - please help
There is a site called Fiverr that you can hire people to do things like design logos or promote your business but I would rather give the $5 to someone that actually knows the face painting business than someone half a world away that knows nothing about face painting except what they google.
Re: Logo choice - please help
Okay... so I've bought numerous gigs at Fiverr from numerous "graphic designers" in an attempt to get a logo designed and I GIVE UP!
$5 here, $5 there... every revision costs $5. And you are right - they don't get the industry we are in and apparently don't understand English too well. Simple instructions "Please incorporate a paintbrush into the design. The paintbrush should have paint on the bristles. I want the paintbrush to appear to be painting the name of my business or the swirls on the logo."
No paintbrush. Candles, yes! But no paintbrush. I sent samples of swirls and teardrops. No luck. I sent samples of the face I'm using in the background for the color choices. They come back with something else altogether.
Ugh.
I think I'd do better spending the time it takes learning how to use my photoshop program and doing it myself. Unfortunately - I don't have TIME!

Jana. Very nice!!!! Just coming up with my name. Logo is next. If I can't come up with something, if it's okay I'll pm you for ideas.
Re: Logo choice - please help
This weekend I'll see if I can get a hold of this girl I worked with painting parasols for 5 years. She graduated from college a couple of years ago with a major in graphic design. I think our problem has been we were finding graphic designers that were keyboard monkeys first and artist second. What we need is someone that is an artist first and a keyboard monkey second. It's the difference between a card staying in a wallet till they clean it out or keeping it when they clean the wallet out because it is unique.
Re: Logo choice - please help
This is what makes the forum great. I love seeing people helping each other out like that.
Re: Logo choice - please help
Thanks everybody for your kind words!
I really wish I had the time to help everyone out with their logos, but it's tough since I'm already working 7 days a week! (9-5 week days at my day job then face painting weekends)
Sometimes the logo-creation bug strikes me, and I'll whip something up for just the hell of it. So if you PM me with your ideas, I can't guarantee anything, but I'll keep your logo in mind if one such a mood might strike.
