Painted so many cuties today!
Hi gals
Painted at a small carnival event today down at the local shopping centre. Didn't make alot of money because of the weather (all cloudy and gloomy and cold and wet and...and...and....blergh!)
Anywho...it was great fun and because I never had more than 2-3 kids in line it also gave me the opportunity to practice new designs and give 'em all more attention (both kids and designs )
(Haven't got time to resize the pictures so forgive the large images)
Here's my all time favorite - the butterfly! This is my fastest, easiest and most secure design I have in my portfolio. It takes 5 minutes tops and looks gorgeus with a minimum effort. The black shading is a tip I learned from watching Lynne Jamieson's "Flight of fantasy" class on FABA tv (I love FABA tv!!)
I also painted these two sweethearts - a rainbow/rose design and a Pegasus (please whoever came up with the Pegasus design take credit! It's so gorgeus and the girls love it!)
I also did a new spider design that I've been wanting to try out. I think it's super cool, it was really fast and sits good on the face.
That's it from me

All are absolutely adorable! Is that a little girl with the spider? I only ask because of the braid. She looks like she is trying to look scary. So cute!

pjhamel: yep that's a girl - at first she wanted a butterfly but then changed her mind and picked the spider

Ooh I love them. It so nice to have extra time that's when I enjoy painting the most I like the placement of the spider. I wonder was she able to make it wiggle and jiggle by wiggling her eyebrows.

I love it all but I am extra loving the rainbow and the pony sisters. I think your pony looks just like a My little pony!!!

Re: Painted so many cuties today!
Pilareta: it's a very simple trick with the shading. a take an angle brush. you know a flat brush that's cut an angle. After outlining with a round brush I take the angle brush, dip it very little in water(you want the ends to split) and add a tiny bit of black. Then you can drag the colours from the tip of the wings and in.
Hope that makes sense. I used the same technique with the blue butterfly on my latest bellypaint (check "bellypainting")
