Brush Strokes E-mag...good investment?
I've signed up for an account on the Brush Stokes site, but I still don't know if it's worth the $$ to subscribe as I can't see anything with a subscription. I know that it's supposed to offer a teaser, but I can't tell where it is or if what little I can see for free IS the teaser.
Does anyone here subscribe? Is it worth the $$?

It is great for the step by steps, but little else IMHO. They cover industry news and such, but A LOT of stuff has to do with Europe since the founders live in Spain and London.
They do offer several step by steps in each issue and unless they have changed their, practice, you should be able to get your year and all the past issues.
I subscribed the first year and have thought about it again for the step by steps, but again, there are so many out there for free.
Not a waste at all, depending on what you are looking to get out of it. I was very happy with the first year.
Make sure to save the step by steps to your computer if you do. For your personal use. After your script is up, you won't have access to the year you paid for.
Again, I don't know all this is still the way they run it, just how it was when I did it. So please ask them for clarification if needed.

It is still the same. You get access to the past issues as well as the new ones. It is now out every two months instead of monthly, that I think it used to be.
I like the step by steps but I also like reading all the articles. I liked the Illusion magazine too but think it's a bit pricey.

I subscribe and really like it. They recently changed it from monthly to bimonthly (an issue every 2 months). It is a pretty good deal overall. I love the step by steps too - but my most fave is the artist interview and event articles with pics!!
Re: Brush Strokes E-mag...good investment?
I like it, but keep forgetting to read it, because it is online. Think I will make a pdf with each one and have them printed out (like two pages on a a4) for quick access. The step-by-steps are good, but I prefer the articles =)

Half the guys I know are glamour photographers, so they say the reason for them to have the magazine is to look at the pictures. *lol*
