TAG dragon one stroke fish
I've been obsessively painting goldfish this last week, but they all turn out looking very cutesy & girly, so I just had a quick go at painting a slightly 'tougher' looking fish, aiming for a fish that might be better for boys. Now, I haven't been painting long so am still getting the feel for basic stuff like how to use brushes & where to put white highlights...I know I stuffed up the highlight placement & splashes on this a bit. I'm liking the colour & how his expression turned out though.

Re: TAG dragon one stroke fish
I don't LIKE it. I LOVE it! Would love to see what that looked like with some scales stenciled on him.

you actually had me going there for a sec, Martha - I thought you were about to tell me why you didn't like it
People do use stencils for face/body paint then? - I've noticed they sell stencils in online FP shops but I just assumed they were used for glitter tatts or something.

Re: TAG dragon one stroke fish
I had a go at doing a larger mouth-painting version on my face - didn't turn out all that well...I struggled with it a bit (I suspect mouth paintings are beyond my skill level yet!).
The other idea I had was to put a fishing hook 'body-piercing' on him, I think it needs to be silver though (which I don't have because I read on here somewhere that most silver FP is rubbish).

Yes, you can use stencils on top of your paints once dry. If you want to play at no cost, save a mesh produce bag or salvage a torn lingerie bag that you use for the dryer. Cut a section out and edge it with some duct tape to give you something to manage. Lay it down over your dried paint and dab with a diferent color. Make sure that second color is really on the dry side. Have fun and play around!Coral3 wrote:martha wrote:I don't LIKE it. I LOVE it! Fish net stockings work great too. Great for snakes too!martha wrote:Yes, you can use stencils on top of your paints once dry. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your cupcake! Fish is fantastic too! For a hook, in my opinion, Fab silver is nice. The kids go "OOOOOO" when I spritz it with water because it just sparkles in the light. I think it goes on well too.
