Website.. what do you think?

Hey guys I am constantly working on my web page, I do everything myself.. so what do you think? Please be honest.. I will not be offended in anyway, esp I have never done a web page before. Thanks here is the link..

I think it's easy to navigate and well presented. Your work is lovely, btw

A couple of suggestions maybe - perhaps pare down your photos a little to those you're most proud of or those that show the most variety of your work (really hard to do when there are so many great shots, I know!) There are so many albums and faces that sometimes work can get duplicated, not a bad thing unless it takes away the chance of them seeing all the other ideas of things you can do

You could also mention your rates on your site - some people don't like to call unless they have an idea of what the rate range is like, even if it's a general idea like "$70 and up" or something.

I think your home page could use a little bit of work. In my opinion, your home page makes the difference from whether someone continues to look at the rest of your website or just leaves. So you have to make your home page really bold, interesting and enticing to keep them wanting to look at more!

With that said, I think using less photos and making them BIG would be a good idea. Choose photos that you think best display the skill and variety you can offer. Choose high quality, colourful, professional-looking photos. It looks like you do body paintings too, so use those photos on your home page as well!

Another thing to keep in mind is that most web users do not read a lot of text on websites. I forget the statistic, but it's something like a few sentences at most. So I'd recommend limiting your text to the bare essentials. What can you offer them? Why hire you? How will face painting improve their event?

I also agree that giving them an idea of your rates would be helpful. I know that I would like to get an idea of how much someone charges before contacting them personally. But maybe that's just me.

Also don't have a section that is blank like your link section. If you don't have anything to put in your link section don't have one. Or put in your local business association or a local place you've painted at before. When we're finished building our site it will have links to our BA and the local pizza place and the place that makes our business cards and signs. Promote the right local businesses and they will promote you.

I'm not into music on sites as I often browse the web when my little guy is asleep next to me and if I hit that page and it woke him up I'd be a bit annoyed..same same for people doing a sneaky search at work and the music comes on - kinda gives it away to the rest of the office that they aren't working!
