i had a read through them all, and it says to avoid plastics with styrene in them. how do u find out weather the plastic contains that? im guessing the finding out the brand, finding there website and then asking.. such a hassel

The plastic box I have that works for Snaz is milky clear/white (like skim milk) and flexible (enough I can bend the lid to flex it off). This picture was from before I put it in though.

RCMA foundation also reacts to similar plastics as Snaz, but MAC chromacake reacts to this plastic box I use for my Snaz. It's interesting the contrasts....

Best solution to try? Be willing to sacrifice the box and some of the paint you want to see - put some in, and wait a week or two - if it hasn't started to react by then, it might not ever...

Does anyone know if the containers that other face paints are in have styrene in them? I've been saving up empty rectangle ones from TAG & DFX split cakes and want to repot my Snaz into them.

What you can do, is line the container with plastic wrap BEFORE putting the paints in... It will protect the container from the paint and the paint from the plastic if it isn't a "safe" type (meaning BHT etc.)

@shannon - thats a good idea i never thought of lining them with plastic wrap. Smile
@noella - flexible hmm this makes me worry becasue the one i got is very hard, but its really thick so this is why i thought it wouldnt crack. i have my tag one stokes in them at the moment and i havnt had a problem but with my original tag containers the lids split on some.

for a little while, I was putting my snaz in a large bead box of a similar type of plastic to the one shown... sheer in colour and kind of bendy.

The larger Snaz comes in round soft plastic containers and the newer smaller containers are hard black plastic but I'm having a real problem with those containers staying together they break very easy.

On, I just keep thinking that it is time to do this to save room, but I do not have the guts. I have two huge tool boxes, and I am tired of the round containers. I need to just bit the bullet and do it. Do most of you use bead boxes?

i usually use the bead boxes, but these are a different sort and not in a craft store, we have a shop here in aus called "store" lol. and the plastic that is made with this is a much harder thicker plastic than the bead boxes. im just going to go for it. if it screws up oh well ill buy more snaz. after all i do now work at the party shop and loving the staff discount Smile
