I am sick of painting!
Not face painting, but house painting. I have painted three rooms and stenciled two others. I have paint in every crack and crevass possible( not really) and in my hair. I love it and hate it. I love the look of a newly painted room, but hate all the clean up.
Oh well, I will share the stencil pics once I am done. I hope to finish the second room tomorrow.

Ugh fun...thats actually kind of the reason I don't like the beach...SAND in every crevice lol! ANyway, can't wait to see...what designs are you doing with the stencils? I decided when I have my own house or apartment to paint however I want, I am going to literally throw paint at the walls in the brightest colors possible and have multicolor walls. Doesn't matter how messy it is that way, and besides, bright colors make me happy.

I'm with you Metina! I LOVE the look of a freshly painted room, but the prep work and clean up is NO FUN! To make matters worse, we bought a house that has peeling wallpaper and no primer on the sheetrock underneath. It is a total nightmare trying to get this wallpaper off the wall without damaging the sheetrock. What a MESS!
Enjoy your newly painted walls Metina. It's going to be worth it once you're finished!

Re: I am sick of painting!
We bought an older house (well, it is the exact same age as I am!! ) and the previous owner did the living room after watching an episode of Trading Spaces and finishing off a bottle of wine... [sigh]
It has grown on us.... I can't face trying to "fix" it.
She did the crumpled brown paper GLUED to the wall and then painted brown to look like "leather" thing... on the two main walls. The othe two she painted "beach glass" which is a very pale turquoisey/mint greenish colour...
The kitching is burgundy with "beach glass" and natural (aka ORIGINAL) oak cabinets... the master bedroom is bright red, the upstairs bath is "british racing green" the downstairs bedroom is burgundy and navy blue, the downstairs bath is terra cotta and the downstairs living area is sort of orange/apricot - two shades of it!
I loathe painting... so we are living with it. Lots of shelves to cover the walls downstairs!! LOL...

We are still living with 'all white' walls! I have paint to do the kitchen and family room...just have NOT wanted to start on that project!!

Angie,
I have two words for you TEXTURED PAINT. I had to renovate my mom's house to rent and she had wall papered the entire thing. What a nightmare. Thout e sheet rock underneath was old and removing the wallpaper really damaged it. We bought gallons of textured paint and went to town and then painted it over with a nice beige. Luckily she only did the top halves of the walls and seperated with chair rail. So now it is all beige with the top being textured(we put the chair rales back on. All the same color throughout the house. It looks like all brand new walls. It saved us tons of money and time.
Just make sure to get good instructions on applying and mixing it and the right temp. It really went on pretty easily once we got the hang of it.

Re: I am sick of painting!
Good tip to know about textured paint. that's the route I'm going in my house.......once I stop procrastinating! LOL
Re: I am sick of painting!
Crayola chalkboard paint! It turns you wall into a chalkboard so you can doodle and erase to your hearts desire.
Re: I am sick of painting!
My kids already doodle on the walls...damn crayons! I should probably do an entire wall in that chalkboard stuff...maybe then they would leave the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, bedroom and other walls alone!
Re: I am sick of painting!
HAHAHA that's why I ONLY buy the washable felts and crayons. When my kids were really little, I would buy a large roll of news print and roll it along the bottom of the wall and tape it. They could paint and draw on that instead. Saved me tons of time, cuz I didn't have to wash walls lol
