Told you guys I'd post pics when I was done, and here it is:

I still need to tweak the set-up (I REALLY need a better brush holder, a better tent, better signage, etc.), but this worked well enough for this past weekend.

Sorry guys.

I recently had a bought of stalkerness with a rather unsavory character from wedding message board I was a part of, and I went a bit overboard setting everything online to private. Embarassed

Here's a link to the album if anyone wants to see it: Smile

Cool! How do you like the collapsible water thingie? I stocked some in the shop, but haven't moved any. Just hoping for some feedback.

Hey Metina,

It's meh. I didn't realize it was so freaking huge, so that's a downside. When it's that big, you use a lot of water just to cover the bottom of it, and if you change your water as soon as it looks icky, you end up wasting a lot of water.

I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that it's clear, but it sits nicely down inside my kit, so at least people waiting in line can't generally see the ickiness I create as I "dry" my brushes off all Bob Ross style inside it. Wink

For now I'm going to keep it, just because I do like the fact that it's collapsible, but if you could find something smaller that was collapsible, I think you'd be able to move them more easily (I know I would buy one Smile).

Did you get the larger or regular size? Measure the bottom of yours and I will compare them. I have both sizes in stock.

I was eyeing it for "sponge water" after I found out the cute bucket didn't hold water. But I want to try to get the cute bucket to work before I try spend more money. It looks just right to hold the pre-wet sponges.

Pre-wet sponges eh? Sounds like a way to speed things up. How does this work?

Super simple. I have a bucket with some sponges in it. I add water, enough to wet the sponges and some extra. When it's time to use one, I grab one and squeeze the water out really good. REALLY GOOD! I also keep a tea towell on me, usually hanging out of my pocket, to wipe my hands. Then toss the used sponge in a dryer garmet bag to dry and take home. Easy Peasy. And I don't have to keep a second clean water to dip sponge in (I'm a clutz... way dangerous for me). I still keep a water spray bottle in case I have to reload the sponge and I mist the cake. Pic of my set-up is in my gallery.

Hiya,

Cooldset up. One way to put your sponge bag in a better spot is to use a balloon(the long ones for twisting) and tie it to the bag lmaking a large circle of the balloon. Then you can just put the bag over your chair. It hangs off perfect and has been washing and dried several times and the balloon is still stretchy.

Hi Jbax,

I was looking at your gallery and in your setup I really like your kind of case/table/ cart, what is this exactly, where you found it?

Thanks! My big tool box thing is called a Stanley Fat Max. I found it at Lowes for about $70, but I met another artist on Wednesday that said he found one at Walmart for $30 (I looked, couldn't find any , or online... he may have been out of date or a big liar Razz ) I actually learned about them from looking around on galleries around here. It is my new favorite, and I call her Lucille. The top part is really all I need for my paint supplies, but the bottom two will hold everything else I need for festival stuff... extension cord, lights, my bucket, extra tea towels and sponges, snacks. I can strap my chair and Lana's table to it because it has wheels. I luvs it

And I picked up hooks from the dollar store and I hang my garmet bag off the side for my used sponges. It works good. I'm having a hard time picturing what you are describing, Metina. Got a pic?

Your set up looks great! The case your paints are in, who is that by? Did you put the foam in the lid yourself? Does it fold flat with all those pots in it?
