A night of fun and challenges - pic heavy
Hi peeps,
I had a very busy Saturday this week - I painted for an event at the Childrens hospital.. came home for a full bodied Hulk paint.... took a break to have a cup of tea before the next job and saw myself and my face paintings on the news!!!! Yay!!! It was footage from the hospital earlier that day!
Then I headed off to paint two people for a halloween themed party they were going to - well ... 2 turned into 7 as it usually does.... and I really got challenged - each person wanted a different design but didn't really know what they wanted.. so it was up to me to be creative.... and by 9pm I was pretty burnt out and no really capable of anything really creative....one girl litteraly said - " so I'm the crazy lunch/canteen lady so paint away!"..... sorry your a WHAT? WTH do I paint for that?...... ANYWAY when I look at the pictures I just see mistakes.... I'm trying to give myself a break as I know I finished at nearly midnight and got up at 6am to get ready for the hospital.... so yeah ... killer day.
My man said I should share them here... actually not sure why he said that now that I think about it.... but here I am sharing my Goulish characters .... hopefully it will inspire you to get your Halloween on...
The kid at the end - wanted a panda with scratch marks on him like he's been fighting...?!?.. great imagination!
There was VERY bad lighting in the place for painting and even worse for photography... so well you get what you pay for and I paid nothing for these and my friend came and took all the shots for me... so for free they are great! xx..... oh and I meant to say I use the Rigid Collidian on the one with the scars and that stuff is AWESOME!... wow huge post sorry!

oH WOW Tash. The ones with the "bad light" actually look like they were meant to be shot that way to enhance the creepy! It certainly DOES make me want to get my Halloween on- sadly I have only "regular" gigs lined up. (wait a minute, scratch that. I have gigs lined up. There's NO sadly about that!)

Wow! Fantastic, Tash!
Love the scarred effect! Rigid Collidian=very cool. Must get some to play with even though I'm not into gore...it's pretty freakin cool.

WOWZERS Tash, looks like you had so much fun. The pics are fantastic & like Sophie said the poor lighting makes it look scarier.
Loving that rigid Collidian it looks so real. I only have one booking for halloween & she is going as Lady Gaga - when she's dressed as a skull. So no exciting blood & gore for me It's a bummer Oz doesn't do halloween like the US does. I'd so get into it. So what did you do for the crazy lunch/canteen lady? Do you have a link for you being on the TV? Would love to see it. I watched the weddings show & saw a couple of your faces - awesome.

FANTASTIC! I thought you were aiming for that lighting.which one is the crazy canteen lady? out of curiosity.
Still nothing here for halloween, other than my kids and there friends, thinking of bothering the local costume hire place. Also thinking of staying home painting the family and scaring anyone who knocks on the door (sounds a bit more Fun)

I think the crazy lunch lady is the one with the cool scars and the hairnet - right? When I think of crazy lunch lady, I think of drawn-on eyebrows in a perpetual look of surprise and a hairy mole.
Re: A night of fun and challenges - pic heavy
Wow, way to go. I'm a little jealous of all that buisiness - some money at least! Good job, can't wait to see more - and good job on the TV too!
Re: A night of fun and challenges - pic heavy
wow Tash, how do you do it? What an exhausting day. Glad you listened to your hubs and shared those pics, they're great! Thanks for sharing. You are much too hard on yourself.
Getting alot of TV coverage of late. Yay for you.

Thanks for the wonderful comments guys!... I was lucky I got good looking people to paint - lol always helps! And they came with their own contact lenses yay!
Yes teh girl in the hair net is the crazy lunch/canteen lady..... in all honesty we don't have those here in Australia... lunch ladies... well we do but not the stereotypical ones and I was stumped... !! She was so pretty too ...like a mannequin... so I didn't want to mess her up too much... I went for some scars and some head damage... she had blood all down the front of her uniform/dress thingy.... I think she ditched the hairnet in the end and went with a red wig to match her eyes.
The wedding thing was a dud... unfortunately but thank-you for checking it out Mandi - the news was better coverage but I cannot find it online to save my life... I'm pretty sure the story was about the preperations and celebrations for the NRL Grandfinal but I was sitting at home talking to my man and the telly was on in the background and I turned around and went "Hey That's Me - that's my facepainting !!!" like a complete dork.. hahaha..
so it was kind of tagged on the end of the story - and I can't find it online
I have an awesome picture of my man with a rigid collidian scar on his face when I was trying it out.... I'll post in on here on a new thread and talk about how I did it just for reference if people are interested.... it's stinky but awesome and just pulls straight off no remover needed!

Love them Tash! After all that painting I'd be so burnt out I think they'd all have gotten butterflies I agree, the lighting adds to the creepy look of the designs.
