Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
I think anything new for face painting is exciting...but brushes....now that is leg shaving worthy.
Which ones did you get?

Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
Thanks ladies, yes anything worth shaving legs is a good thing I ordered the 2 Loew Cornell series 7040 #'s 6 and 4 round. I also ordered 3 Loew Cornell series 7000 #'s 6, 4 and 1 round. I wanted to see which I liked better..... I'm really liking the easy flow of the 7000 series!! BTW, I have bother leg's painted, 1 arm and my face....he he he
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
The best brushes I had found were the Royal Langernickel Majestics but I don't remember shaving my legs for them! I have recently found the Loew Cornell Soft Comfort series from AC Moore Craft Stores. I love the control and the loading of each brand. Makes line work effortless for me!
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
Line work is exactly why I wanted to try the Loew Cornell brushes, so far I'm very happy with them. Had to shave the legs in order to practice my swirls, curls and tear drops as my kids run away when they see me coming.....lol
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
Those are the best brushes, I tryed wolfe and snazaroo but 7000 series are the best!!! enjoy
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
I have trouble keeping my brushes from getting those crazy "wild hairs" after awhile...any suggestions?
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
i JUST BOUGHT SOME LIQUID SPRAY STARCH (FOR CLOTHES) AFTER i WASHED THEM i LET THEM DRY THEN SPRAYED THEM, AND GUIDED THEM INTO THEIR SHAPE. IT TAKES A TIME TO DRY, NOT TOO HARD, BUT I HAVE A JOB THIS WEEK END, I FIGURE I WILL SWISH THEM IN WATER TO REMOVE THE STARCH THEN DO IT AGAIN WHEN I WASH THEM AFTER THE GIG.
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, i AM TALKING ABOUT BRUSHES.
Delinee: you are too funny with shaving your legs when excited.

Thanks Saloner...I have heard of the starch thing but wasn't sure if it worked. I had tried Magic Sizing spray..That did not work...I'll try the starch :0)
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
Just clip the "wild hairs" (on the brushes, not your legs, girls!) as close to the ferrule as you can with a pair of nail clippers...easy breeezy
Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
I'm know I'm such a Pashur groupie...but here's another one:
Pashur caught a lady loading her brush by swirling it in the paint in a circular pattern, he said that it would shorten the life of her brush and it would only last a month. He told her to always draw the brush through the paint to load it and the brush will last much longer.
I've now realized that I do that too and that is probably why my #4's get "hairy" and I have a hard time keeping a point.
As far as resetting the brushes...I've been using spray on hair gel with my rounds and it works really good and washes right out when you use it again.

Re: New brushes!!! Woo hoo
have a couple of methods,
i use brush shapper when I rotate brushes to leave it on there forsay 3 weeks. The ones in use after thouroughly claened get a small swipe (dosnt take much) on soap each side. I used to have this art teacher who in primary school made us all do this at the end of the lesson for years. It stuck. it really dosn't take that much.
If one gets ratty I do the quick boiling hot water dip then retire it with some brush shapper. dosn't always work but sometimes it dose. If all else fails I clip it.
