Tent banner Empty Tent banner

Post by earthorange Mon Sep 12, 2011 4:45 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready to buy my first tent and I need some advice on banner size. It seems to make sense to have it going all the way across the tent, but it just seems so HUGE. Also, vistaprint's banner sizes are 2.5 feet wide, which just seems like people would bump their heads on it on the way in. What's the deal? Does anyone have a picture of their tent with banner they could share?

Also, does anyone have a separate sign for glitter tattoos? I'm just thinking I will probably be in situations where I won't be offering them.

Thanks!
Julie

I have the vistaprint large banner, but you have to put it on the back or side of the tent, it's too wide to put it over the door. What I have done for that purpose, is buy the new extra large size and split it in half lengthwise. I got two of them like that so that I have 4 long banners to go on the valance on each side.

in this pic you can see the large at the back, the extra large split at the top and the small banners (vertical) in the front.

Perry, that's brilliant! Thanks so much for the advice and picture. I see you don't have your name/logo on the front. Do you ever find that an issue? Does anyone ever look specifically for you at events?

the top ones are mainly for larger events, just to draw attention over to the tent and often for those, I'm working with Glitterfly. As you can see in this one, there were two of us set up in the tent and I almost wish I didn't have my big branded one in the back because it pushes my stuff more than hers, but she says to put it up because it is big and attracts attention. I also use the small banner size for my face paint samples. When I'm working on my own, I hang them on the front of the tent on the opposite side from the balloon list, two next to each other.

Perry has awesome banners. And I would never mind if someone asked her for info. bc of her banner. We really work well together. And I really find that Perry and I draw total opposites when it comes to bookings. Maybe bc she is an awesome clown and I am always plain clothed.
But, yah....her signs rock.

I did the same thing with my banner, putting the words "Face Painting" on it twice and then splitting it horizontally. I'm pretty sure mine is just a large banner, not extra large. I still need to trim some extra off the bottom, it does hang a bit and there is some white space that can still be trimmed. I used the same font and colour gradient as my logo because I am trying to "brand" my look.

yeah, I used the same font and template on vistaprint for my big one in the back of the tent as the skinny ones on the outside so that it is kind of "continuous" ... my little ones aren't the same but that's because I don't use templates for those, I make a single image file for the whole size of the banner with my images, text and all and just upload the whole banner in one shot.

I got one from vistaprint and just cut off the extra width. The edges don't seem to need any sealing or anything. After the first one, I decided not to waste the space, and printed two banners one on top of the other and then cut it down the middle. Voila! 2 (skinny) banners for the price of 1.

www.bannersonthecheap.com has 2x10 for $28. Wouldn't that fit a tent perfectly?

Don't do what I did and order a huge wide banner..d'uh. I got it 10 feet long, I like that and will do it again, but I got it 3 feet tall by 10 feet wide so I could put it above my canopy so people could see me (common complaint that i got lost in the sea of neon and tall signs...) Well, all it is, is a giant sail that I worry abotu when working...tiny gust of wind and it snapped the metal poles I had standing it up! LOL D'uh...so, now, I have a small face painting banner across the top of my canopy, and the big sign on the inside across the back wall for people to see when they peek in. I'll try to find a picture.
