Just sharing a few Celtic knots :)

So this is my first try at Celtic knots. . .note to self: Painting on your own upper arm is way too difficult. and it is a must to recruit someone else to take the picture.

I've been practicing this one on paper to learn where to put the outline. . .this is the one I finally did without looking at a picture.


One that is super easy for my little design board, not perfect but super quick!

Those are great, that top one looks really hard!

It's really easy, once you get the pattern down....I think that one took me about 7 minutes because the angle on my arm was terrible. Basically, you just make two parallel lines, and then two across the middle of those. Draw a small circle around the center square that is created, and then a larger circle around that. The just connect one line to the other with the swirly thing going over one of the lines. The outline is a little more difficult, but just remember, over under. If the line went over the last line it crossed, it will go under the next one.

My husband said I can paint his back tonight, and I'll do a step by step to show how easy it is.

I tried this afternoon to make your knot. I did it without your example on hand so I forgot the turns around on the outside. Had to concentrate on the outlining (over, under), one mistake and start all over again haha.
Here it is. I did some tribals around to see the effect. I don't know if I like it yet with the tribals. And my arm is too small too, couldn't get a good picture and I almost had a wrist fracture to make these. Leg should have been better.

I love the shading on it Nancy! I've been working a knot design that looks more tribal, but havn't gotten it exatly like I want. Maybe I should add a few tribals around it, and see if that makes it better
