Does ANYONE teach in Minneapolis???

I would love to increase my skills, but can't find anyone in my area who teaches facepainting. Anyone know of someone around here who does?

I don't know where exactly Cindy Trusty is located in MN but she has a team and they network with other facepainters. You can contact her and see what your options are for taking it further. Her website is:

Thanks, Angie. I contacted Cindy and she does not do classes, nor has she been able to get anyone up here to teach. Apparently you have to have a large group to make it worth their while. I understand that, but it is frustrating, nonetheless!

Don't feel bad, no one comes here either. I've learned 90% of what I know from reading on forums, studying pictures and watching how-to videos.

Jam??? What is that??? Just kidding....we don't have jams either, as far as I know. Too bad we can't set up our own weekend jam somewhere in a relatively central location. I'd sure try to get something going here in Minneapolis if enough people would want to come. Maybe we could get someone from Wolfe or Snazaroo to come, too. That would be soooo sweet!!

I live in wisconsin..Onalaska/Lacrosse area.. no one here that teaches..
I how ever have family in the cities and would come there if I could get more training.. maybe all of us should get to gether and have our own jam.. we could learn from each other...I really would love to learn more,, the you tube vid;s are great but hands on would really help.

I've been searching the Forum for any references to workshops / classes in the Twin Cities, and I found this thread. I see it is a couple of years old, but did anything ever come if it? Was there any sort of get together? Does anyone know of any workshops / classes in the Twin Cities now?

Hello Hauntedhouse. Since I couldn't find a class, I just worked really hard to learn all I could online and from watching people paint at fairs. After doing tons of birthday parties and events, I felt I had my skill level up to the point where I taught a Community Education class and had a BLAST! The gals were great and we did talk about getting together to jam, but we all got busy and it never happened. I would always be up for doing that and trying to get ahold of some of the women from my class. How long have you been face painting?

Gina Neimi just did a work shop in Eagan Minnesota. back in Feb...I think if you could get at leat 10 people together she would come back...but it would have to be after the busy season

Oh well, that's me; a day late! Did you go to that, Barb? (How far is Lacrosse from the Twin Cities, anyway?) I presume though, that right around Labor Day is the approximate end of the busy season?

Pashur did a workshop in September in Mpls (but it didn't work out for me to go). :-(

What generally happens at a jam session? How does one go about organizing them?

Lacrosse is only 2 hours from Minneapolis...my brother in law lives there so we could go for the weekend and visit...that's what we did back in Feb...Gina has mentioned coming back to the cities...

I would also be interested in jams and/or classes. I also heard of that group on Facebook but wasn't able to join because it is closed and didn't know who to contact to join.

It is indeed a closed group, but I sent a request to join. So... what is a "jam"?

As I understand it (not having actually been to one yet), a face painting jam is where people get together to paint and exchange ideas and techniques.

I sent a request too, but have not heard back from anyone.

I finally heard back and was accepted into the Midwest facepainters facebook group!  :-)

Glad you guys were able to get into the group. I know Gina would come back if we could get 10 to 12 people who wanted another class...Anna from jest paint would also come if we could get around 12. but it has to fit in their schedule...also I think there is a jam getting ready to take place...let me find it.
