Hi guys,
I figure I have a forum full of great minds here in the same business so what better place to ask for feedback....
I'm just building my website and would love some constructive criticism please Smile What works? What doesn't? Anything I could add or change? Did you find it easy to navigate? What overall impression does it give about my business? I've bought my direct url but haven't got it linked up yet so the address will change soon but the link should work anyway.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to have a look and share your opinion!

I'm not the best at website critique- ok really, my opinion means next to nothing!- but I really super like your site! My one concern is that, because your primary image is the beautiful golden fairy (I'm determined to paint a golden fairy myself today thanks to your inspiration!) that it may skew the whole site toward Girls, so I'd try to oomph up my boy designs in the gallery and lead with those.

Wow, that is GORGEOUS! I love it! I love you The impression I get is a more sophisticated, elegant feel. You come across professional, artistic and above average for sure. Smile

I also have a Wix site, aren't they fun? Here are my suggestions:

1. Slow down the rate of your output sparkles just a bit. They are lovely but a wee bit distracting once you leave the home page.

2. On your About and Contact pages, fade out the background even more so the text stands out and is easier to read. Or you could add a shadowed text box. The font is very pretty but not easy to read at that size. There are also some typos (I know you're mostly working on design right now but wanted to mention just in case Smile ).

3. Crop your home page fairy picture to remove the rubbish container.

4. Consider changing the gallery so it automatically scrolls at a 3-second pause on each photo. Right now it only moves if you place a cursor over a photo and the first time I looked at the page I thought you only had those first 3 pics in there.

5. Change your facebook URL link to a facebook button with URL built in. You can also make your facebook button sparkle or shine if you like. Wink

6. Don't forget to change your settings so the site header says what you want it to instead of the wix "based on day care" design.

Your work is gorgeous and the site design you created is a wonderful reflection of that!

I love you

I really like it also. I think the things you offer for a party are great. I also agree on cropping the rubbish container. It is a garbage container and it gets on my nerves that it is reversed. Other than that I love the site, and your work is great also. I have been working on my site too, and now I kinda wish I had done the wix.

Anyone have a few minutes to spare? Empty your website comments

Post by aussiemarie Sat Jul 09, 2011 11:17 pm

Hi,
First it is a fabulous website! I love it!!! The only comment I can make is a suggestion to change out or modify your home page photo. The lovely child is exquisite in wings and make up and she is doing one of your party activities BUT...the pail on the table states " Rubbish Please" which may be sending a "mixed message". After looking through your fantastic gallery of photos I suggest swapping it out for the one with all the children in fancy dress playing pass the parcel!! That seems to depict the fun, excitement, party planning concept, activity and face paint and more fun.
The font is jazzy and sophiticated but for my 50 + eyes still abit small and difficult to read....
Your facepainting skills are brilliant and its clear you have a marketable party package. I find it especailly a selling to point to show the range of kids ages, themes, and range of activiites. Gotta love the pic of the tow tough blocks painting! Laughing Have you got a pic of kids showing off their finished works of art? Speaks: happiness and fun and a Successful Event.
Also nice to play up the aspect of "Let Arty Farty Parites ...make your party event a success....Mums can relax and enjoy family and friends while Arty puts the Entertainment in Party"....something like that....
Wonderful job...I wish my website was as complete ! Best Luck.

I concur with the others... very nice look and feel. Sophisticated and fun. But you definitely need to either crop the rubbish bin, or photoshop 'rubbish please' out of it? Should be able to do that with any photo software that offers a 'clone' tool.
Otherwise, looks like you are ready to launch it as soon as you finish those other pages. Well done!

I'm so glad I asked for your help! Thanks for your comments, all very good suggestions. I have tried to edit out rubbish bin (it was already on my list of things to do!) and I've made font a bit bigger, backgrounds a bit darker to contrast, slowed sparkles down, changed the gallery around and put in a facebook link. My tired eyes cant spot the typos though Sad
Also how do I change the text at top of window that says preschool whatever??
What do you think of the new and improved website so far? What else should I do?

Love it! You took the suggestions and it really shows. I love the site. Ok now I am gonna have to switch to wix.. I bought my web address but haven't found a host with a builder that I like yet, that I can afford right now. I really like your format. Back to look at Wix I go
