What are your targets markets?

Just wondering what market segments others target when sending out postcards, emails ect... and why.

Here is my list(and growing)
-Churches(They have large groups of families and usually have events)
-Banks(Have events and upscale clientele)
-Zoos(Have lots of events, lots of foot traffic and lots of kids)
-Schools(Lots of childrens, their parents and events)
-Mom's groups(Duh!)
-Events Organizers
-Political Candidates
-Resturants(Some have parties for kids)
-Parks and Recs
-Chambers of Commerce
-Visitor's Centers
-City Officials
-School Board Members
-Other Painters
-Other Entertainers
-Anyone who provides a service for children's parties or children's areas at events
-Theatres

Large companies - in my area oil & gas, forestry (like Weyerhaeuser!) and equipment sales. (at least 75% of my business comes from this sector)

Agricultural Fairs, Rodeos, Festivals, horse races, tractor pulls - I have several annual events and pick up new ones every year.

Charities & Non-Profit Groups (including Schools) - I do events every year for the MS Society, the Cancer Society, several cultural groups, and also do demonstrations at the schools of theatrical and sfx make-up.

On my CD's I actually have lots more information specifically on "Target markets" and other marketing and advertising ideas... with lots of examples and scripts. I don't sell them myself but they are available from FacePainting4U in the UK at

I no longer do cold calling (or mailing), but when I did, I targeted:

Daycare centers
Schools
Theatres and Drama groups
Country clubs
Touristy shopping centers
Party places
Restaurants (Chili's, Chick-fil-a, pizza and game places)
Skating rinks

I've gotten responses from some of these. I would often get their email addresses from their websites and email them personally with a link back to my website. Being able to view your work is what will sell it.

We're looking at it... right now the CDs are actually physically produced in the UK which is why they are being sold there. I will keep you posted.
