Withe Cars 2 coming out soon, I've been trying to come up with some decent car designs. Could someone give me some suggestions? I do intend on practicing cheek art as well, but I want to have some full face designs as well.

I think this is a difficult subject but you have succeeded! it lacks the green eyes and a flash on the side of the car .. but I accept your idea!

I need to try to do more of a 3/4 view then, as that's the front view, and you wouldn't be able to see the flash, but my son rejected it (4 yo) for same reason - lack of the lightning. Smile

Thanks! I appreciate it! Ill work on this some more. Not my design, unfortunately, I have seen it done this way online. But I couldn't find it again.

What about that new artimation design where the car would have a side on view on the forehead and the wheels would be glasses around the eyes..A woman does one with a firetruck that is really effective..I cannot remember her name..she is the author of the new picking your nose book..
Just a thought..Good luck

Hahaha freedspirit, you read my mind!! I was thinking the same idea the other day. I was standing in the shop just staring at all the new cars merchandise and imagining transferring to the face. Her name is Margi Kanter by the way. I love her stuff, it's so much fun and specially great for the little ones, coz for the most part there's not too much painting on the eyes.

Yeah Cars merch has hit in a big way huh? Its hard enough taking a nearly 2 yr old boy to the supermarket without having EVERYTHING with cars on it (he's slightly/very obsessed with matchbox cars). At least he is letting me practice quick cars cheek art. I'll try and get a good one and take a pic.

I did 2 Lightning McQueens today at an event I did. both were on the arms of little boys but I tell you what you can wing from memory. I have seen this painted numerous times on here by other artists but never tried it myself until today. I surprised myself with how well they came out.

So THANK YOU to whomever it was that did that Cars SBS a while back. You came to my rescue today. lololol

I wish I could credit the person who did this, but I pulled this from my inspiration file. If anyone knows who did this, please let me know.

It's not Lightning Mcqueen (or however it's spelled). He had a little toy convertible he wanted painted but you can get the idea of what I was going for. It was my first try at a car like this and he was thrilled. He told his mom I was his new best friend. lol

I know the work isn't super clean but it was for practice challenges (went to the house of one of my girls and the neighbor boys came over with "challenges" for us, bless their hearts). I think with a bit of adapting it might work -don't form the seats around the eyes, the yellow down the side, I also think I'd add tire treads next time maybe.

Tow Mater is so funny. I'm not sure how I'd paint him. Hmmm...

These are pretty old I did them when the first Cars movie came out. I definately think the lighting bolt thru the KA CHOW needs to be outlined to stand out more. But just thought these may help too. Sorry the pics aren't great I actually had to take pictures of old pictures that I had in an old face painting album. Couldn't find them on my computer.

If I could make this one better I would have done better definition on the eye lids of the cars characters. Mater to me would be impossible on a face, but I'm sure someone out there can come up with it!

I think that one looks good. It's just hard to see the car "face", because the child's face is stronger. These are inspiring, gonna have to try it out.
