First Belly Painting Empty First Belly Painting

Post by fluttersby Fri May 13, 2011 1:02 pm

I was really excited to do my first belly. Not a good picture but I did want to share it. The mommy to be is a little overweight so it didn't look right with her standing up.

I did practice this first on my thigh. I am hoping for more chances to paint bellies because I really liked the larger canvas.

Thank you. I feel so "un-talented" compared to all the "super-talented" people on this board. Compliments mean so much. They say, "Keep going," so thank you.

Cute. To help w/ mom's "extra love" from pregnancy, you can have some props like flowers, scarves, feather boas, etc. to mask what she doesn't want shown. It will enhance your design & give mom a good ego boost.

Thanks, Linda. I did not think of anything like that, and the mommy to be isn't that kinda girl, so it kinda was what it was, but I was just glad that the painting and design came out as well as it did. I think too, that I could have kept it above the belly button, because she had kind of a fold there, almost like a big mac (I mean it, it was LOL) and she could have kept her waistline up to that point for a picture. It would have made her belly look more rounded. Well, the things we learn as we do them, right? Next time, in this situation, I will know.

beautiful for a first try!! sometimes what i do when the mom is a little bigger or if the belly isnt super round, I get them to stand first before the paint & use white paint to "dot out a pattern" basicly map out the areas that will be painted .. then get them to sit down & you have a good picture of where u want your paint Smile
