Help with Superhero's
Hi
I'm still not very experienced and haven't really came out of my comfort zone of the designs I have in my folder that I take to parties with me, but i've had a request for a superhero themed birthday, i've never even attempted a spiderman yet, more because I dread the thought of covering a child's face in red paint, I have a red star blend as I heard it is easier to get off.
So i'm calling on your expertise for any suggestions, pictures etc of superhero's pls
Thanks
Paula

Re: Help with Superhero's
first, you need to get over the idea of covering a child's face in red paint.... green is worse.
Second, even if it's kind of hard to wash off, that's what these things are for. Just tell parents that if it doesn't all come off the first time they wash it with soap and water, to put a little moisturizer or baby oil on their skin for a few minutes and wash it again with soap and water and it should all come off.
Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day across North America and perhaps the world (I don't know). In preparation for just this day, because I will be painting for 8 hours at a local comic book store, my most recent sample picture banners have a lot more super heroes and villains than ever before:

Perry I have to Thank you foer the tip about Comic Book Day. Had you not made mention of it, I would have never known about it. I sent out postcards to 6 comic book stores and got jobs with 3 of them.

the spiderman mask doesn't have to cover up the whole face. You could stop the red just above the nose so it is a mask.
I love to do spiderman; so easy to do, very quick since I stopped using a sponge and started to use a large brush.
You can add Mr. Incredible too; he only has a black mask.

Congrats on getting the 3 gigs!!!
I remember when Erin mentioned Comic book day, but I didn't think I had the repertoire of Super Heros to offer.
I'm curious, (both Erin and Tamara) which are the superheros that you will be offering for CBD? Will you be working from a list or doing requests?

Re: Help with Superhero's
I just put out my regular banners... actually about half the faces that I did today weren't even comic book related

Maaike, I'm interested in what you said about stopping using the sponge for Spiderman. I may try using a brush too, for the red; I do a mask version and I find it difficult to get the shape just right with a sponge. Somehow it never occurred to me to use a brush!!
