Mark reid's Glitter Corsets
Anyone see exactly how he does that? The sort of solid big areas of glitter so it looks like sparkly lurex or something, no paint showing?
Typically every time he has done one anywhere near me I was painting or demo-ing myself so missed his technique. He told us it was just glitter on wet paint but I don't see HOW as it would still be some on the dry paint.....
Any info gratefully received as I have a shoot coming up I'd like to try the technique on...
Thanks, cat x

Hmmm, no idea. He might be coming back to Colorado for a 'body' class and I could try to hit him up to do that style for us.
Maybe he uses a puffer immediately after applying each section...so it never dries long enough for it to not stick?
I didn't see any 'glitter paints' in his kit, just paint and seperate glitter.

Re: Mark reid's Glitter Corsets
OK. I emailed Mark and then we spoke on the phone and this is what he said.
The trick to it is using the big cut, craft glitter. Not the cosmetic grade, super fine stuff we use for the face. This is where the brilliance comes in.
For the red and black he said he painted the red and put the red glitter on while wet then painted the black and used gold Graffitti glitter over top.
He also said you can find a gold and black corset on his myspace page also.
Hope this helps.

Re: Mark reid's Glitter Corsets
oooo, ta!
In some ways that's annoying as I have huge tubs of craft glitter for making wings back in the Uk but not here in NZ where the next body shoot is!
Thanks!

Re: Mark reid's Glitter Corsets
Simple - for gold paint he uses Wolfe and for big glitter areas he uses spirit gum when it really has to stay on - simple ones no goo and pours on the glitter - even pats it in - craft glitter.
Opps I am now getting a full screen view.....late again. That's a basic way to do dancers in the clubs anyway - simple. Stuff we use on bodies for art isn't what we do in face painting for the kids.

Anybody has a picture or link to one? I think I have been looking about everywhere without seeing an example...
