Gigmasters.com???
There fees seem very high for a face painter and was just wondering if anyone had a membership on here and felt that it was worth it. Thanks!
Re: Gigmasters.com???
Nope, but you can list yourself for free on www.mypartyplanner.com if you're willing to put a link back to them on your website (they've got a good google rating to help you come up in searches more) and I've gotten a couple things off of www.kijiji.ca (the american one is www.kijiji.com) which is a free classified site organized by major cities.
Re: Gigmasters.com???
I tried Gigmasters last year, when they were offering a special discount rate. I didn't get a single paying gig out of it, so I didn't renew. I got an almost paying gig that ended up falling through.
Re: Gigmasters.com???
I have had gig masters for 2 years, I have gotten alot of requests for info/pricing, but no gigs. Mostly because the requests are from people outside our service area.

gigmaster is how I have my first gig It's a birthday party at a park on June 27th. Hopefully it doesn't fall through but so far we are still a go!

I tried craiglist and never got a response - there were help wanted ads posted for face painters but they did not want to pay

Re: Gigmasters.com???
I've used Craigslist and it's actually brought in a decent amount of gigs (along with those inquiries that never go anywhere )! I post under event services, alongside the magicians/djs/caterers...
Re: Gigmasters.com???
I was on Gigmasters for 6 months, was a waste of money. Another face painter in my area is charging half my price, then I wasn't able to compete with that. Customers that are going trough gigmasters are looking for the cheapest price, not for quality. I get most of my gigs from peoples who have seen my work at festivals.
Re: Gigmasters.com???
I am on gigmasters - they were running a special - I have gotten only two gigs and they charge a $20.00 minium finders fee. I will not be renewing.
I also have a friend in another city that is on gigmasters and she is finding that another local face painter is cutting the prices by half. It is so disappointing to see artists doing this to one another. I don't understand why people will work for less when they can be making more.
