Invoice Sample..HELP!!

I was hired for a realtors company for a picnic...they asked me for an invoice so they can have my check ready....thing is...i have NO idea what to do?? Does anyone have a sample or what do you do when someone ask you for something like this? Im new at this..so pretty much all my gigs are by word..no paper involve (yet) and the money is always cash...i dont have an acccount for my business...but i did ask the lady to just have it under my name..i dont want to have issues later when i want to cash it if its under Face painting or something.
...The gig is for 4hrs of face painting And Glitter tattoos!

All you have to do is create a word document that says Invoice on the top lists your company name, then below that the name of the client, the service provided, the date and time of the event, the duration of the service and the total price plus or minus any deposit amount and email this to them or snail mail it

You can go to Microsoft word... click new... invoice (pick one you like) I usually pick a simple one...

Fill it out... save it as a PDF and then just email it over to them.

I just got hired by a travel agency and they asked for an official receipt and not the usual email receipt I usually send. I just googled "receipt template" or "invoice template" and it will usually bring you to Microsoft word templates. Then you pick one, download it and fill it in.

I would recommend saving the doc as a PDF. I have heard of a Word invoice being altered.

I know an alteration can be argued, but I think its better to be safe than sorry.

Word97 & on lets you save as PDF I think, I use Open Office & that lets you save as a PDF.

I Just use an invoice statement book. Then I can send ahead of give on the day.

I scanned the word document and saved it as jpeg then e-mailed it to avoid altering.

Susy..thanks!! i actually did everything you said hehe (and actually emailed it to myself first to make sure the file couldnt be altered lol)...oh well...done! yay!
