Best Metallics.
Which ones are your favorite. I have the Melron pallet. Trying to figure out if it is worth me buying something else. I tried to do a metallic blue cat face on my daughter's friend, and I couldn't get it to cover worth a darn.
Re: Best Metallics.
It is really hard to say. Seems like there are good colors within most brands. Are you working with a paradise metallics pallet?
Are you swiping(wiping it on) or dabbing it on? Some colors are so intense that you can swipe or like with the Kryolan Interferenze where swiping is best because you only want the sheen.
You have to be careful that you are not wiping it off as you are trying to put it on. Sometimes dabbing is better. Hope this helps.

Re: Best Metallics.
Yeah, it is the Paradise Pallet.
And what exactly is the difference between say, Krylon gold and Krylon Interferenze gold? How is the Interferenze line different?

Re: Best Metallics.
I would try to explain, but I know someone else on here can do it better. I haven't had any experience with the Krylon gold, but I do have the IF pallette and while some are really nice, several of them are um....nothing I would purchase.
The IF Silver and IF Bronze(what we all use for gold) are the best. Though I did sample what looked like a super shiny Kryolan silver at a jam which was very neat!

Re: Best Metallics.
Interferenz means irridescent. So the Kryolan Interferenz line is shiny and shimmery, with some having really gorgeous effects in light. The metallics are different and often not as "bright" as they don't have the shine and reflective qualities.
As far as metallics go, the old Wolfe silver and gold were great for details. I like Interferenz Bronze (or Bronce if you buy it in Europe!) and Silver (Silber) and would not go without them. The IF Bronze is pure gold, better than metallic gold. Silver (Silber) is sort of an irridescent pearl rather than a metalliz silver... beautiful rubbed overtop of other colours - use a dry sponge for this.

I also like the Interferenz - but always forget to use them, because they are in a different palette. But love the DFX/Wolfe metallic! Use them as base for most things. Else are loose metallic pigments from MAC and others also lovely applied with a damp brush =)
Re: Best Metallics.
I scrapped my Paradise metallics as I had 3 in a row of the blue, silver and copper that were all sort of crumbly and lumpy, whatever I did.
I love Snaz sparkle yellow & orange (their electric green/ blue/ purple are OK too) and as above, any of the Kryolan Aquacolour metallics (espec copper for gold etc) and irridescent interferenz range.
Wolfe/ DFX metallics are fab too tho I keep them mainly for bodies due to their sticking power!
the best for linework are the Fardel liquids - LOBVE green-gold and blue-gold but they are in smal;l glass pots and pricey so not really the best value!

Re: Best Metallics.
My experience says go with the Kryolan for silver!!!! Love it!!!! unless you are talking kiddies then I might go with the Snazzy option. (I didn't love the metallic Mehron/Paradise - just could not get a nice even base with it - didn't someone here or on one of the other forums say Jinny was going to work with them to reformulate some of the Mehron line? I really personally believe their yellows and metallics are their weakest links, so to speak, and will not be repurchasing once what I have is gone.)
Re: Best Metallics.
I sell all of them and have really gotten to know these paints.
I don't really care for Paradise Metallics save Cherry Bomb - I do like that.
However many use it and like it. I find too they oxidize too quickly then crumble.
Kryolan Interferenz is a wonderful paint - but I do not care for it in face painting. It not made for tahy and it's best application is in body art. Again lot's of painter love it. It is not an opaque paint and as it is soft it really doesn't have a long life on the skin. Plus the way to use it is not via brush but sponge in a frothy whipped up manner - one were you really get your hands in to it - not what you want with face art. Of couse Kryolan copper rules and copper out here. - silver, gold very nice again all to soft for me. Too soft to add any line work ontop of.
Wolfe Metallics are by far their most popular paints these days. Good via sponge or brush, deep rich color and coverage.......... and every single brand of green or purples leaves a reidue on me so whatever to those who claim it stains.
Like all paints you really are gonna have to try some of each.

Re: Best Metallics.
Now that I am selling the Diamond FX, and demoed all the metallix on the skin. I am amazed at how lush they are. I loaded my sponge once with metallix blue and did a full-face spiderman and it covered perfectly.
The Snaz colors are good for giving a sparkly sheen of the color, but will give you good coverage if you go over a couple of times. Sparkle Orange and yellow are must haves.
