that their may be staining. I know this might deter them, but I just can't begin to cover any damage costs.
Thoughts?

I will tell some of the moms I know personally that if there is staining on the face, to just apply lotion and wait 30 minutes and wash again.
I have only been around a moonbounce once and it was a smaller one owned by the party girl. The kids did go in on a hot sweaty day and did stain the fabric. It did wipe off with some elbow grease though

If they happen to mention it... but how often does that happen?

I've mentioned before that the moon bounce may cause the kids to sweat off their paint, but don't usually even think about staining. I would assume that it is the responsibility of the moon bounce rental company to let hosts know if they don't want face painted children inside their inflatables. So far I've never heard of a problem, and almost every party I go to has an inflatable, so it must not be too big an issue.

I don't think it's that big of an issue. Bouncy people & face painting goes together & it's part of the job. I've never even thought to warn them. I'm sure it's fine. The bouncy companies would have to sue every face painter in the area, as I'm sure all our paint is in them

Hello,
we have a bit of a problem with this here in the UK. I have had several bookings cancel (or not go ahead) because the bouncy castle company won't allow face painted children on their castles.
I arrived at a job recently and the bouncy castle hirer started to tell the party host that children could not go on with painted faces. When i challenged him on this, he said it was because of staining. When i said that i understood that my paints cleaned off just fine with water he backed down very quickly and agreed that it was grease-based paints that caused a problem. He then took my card and said he'd book me for parties himself!!!
Friendly Bouncy castle hirers here have suggested that anyone who doesn't want face paints near their castles must be objecting because they don't want to clean their between uses - well who would want to hire a dirty castle anyway?!

Re: Do you ever warn parents who are hiring you and a moonbouce....
Just chiming in here...
We own bouncy castles and the cost for those things are astronomical.
$1600 and up and our insurance is like $4500 per year...face paint stains are not covered in that insurance price. People don't want to rent dirty castles and paint stains look like dirt.
FYI: I'm on a bouncy castle forum and many of those people will be adding Glitter Tattoos this coming summer. They were apprehensive at first, but once they saw glimmer tattoo's booth at their convention in November they all hopped on board due to the staying power of the tattoo.

Re: Do you ever warn parents who are hiring you and a moonbouce....
Paint on the castles ( we call them Jumping castles in OZ) is not our problem.
While I can see what a pain it must be the owners of the castle.... it's up to them to lay out the rules to the person hiring the castle.
I do always mention the fact the it will ruin their face paint, because I feel it's a waste of money to have the kids painted for only five mins of the party and the rest of the time they run around in a sweaty face paint mess.

So far I haven't had any problems working a party that had a bounce house. I work very closely with a couple of bounce house companies and it actually boost business for them when they mention they can offer face paint also (and vice versa).
