I am in love with the Loew Corrnell 7000C there wonderful brushes, I love the look of the Ultra rounds, may just have to add them to my wish list.

I have a few of the simply Simmons brushes & never use them. I agree, the 1" flat brush hold way too much paint & water & is too soft.
The Mark Reid brushes are just amazing! I just got the #2 & #6 as well as the chisel & love them all(I already had the #4 & it's been a goto for a while). I also love the Majestic, but haven't been able to find them for a while.

O M G!!!! Are these the same as the royal majestic Metina sells? I saw a pack of about 20 brushes for 19.99 at Michaels but didn't get them because they said majestic and langnickel and i wanted to make sure they were the same.

Yeah it really is all on what you like. Just a process of finding and testing diffrent ones. I love the Mark Reid brushes.

I swear by my DFX #3 rounds, but given the advice of Lucie Brouillard, don't shell out too much cash on brushes--she suggests going to discount art supply stores. Just make sure the ones you get are synthetic/golden taklon!

I found that I was struggling to find a good brush to paint with! I have lots of brushes! I have taken advice from others and I have searched myself!

I personally love the Loew Cornell Comfort Series 3000! (Round Brushes, Cobalt Blue Handle). These I find, hold paint wonderfully and they also enable me to make perfect lines and swirls!

I also love the Mark Reid brushes as they are great with holding paint and making lines and swirls! However, these brushes are quite costly!! I decided to buy a few bit by bit, so the pain of spending money isn't felt too much! They are a great investment, but as I am living in the United Kingdom, the Loew Cornell are hard to get hold of! I had to order from USA!

I bought some cheaper brushes, (not that cheap, but cheaper than the Loew Cornell & Mark Reid), they are the Royal, Clear Acrylic Handle brushes (white hairs), they seem to be really good.

All these suggested brushes, hold their shape very well, and therefore last longer than other brushes.

I haven't found a good one stroke flat brush that I like, but I am thinking the TAG one stroke brushes will work wonders, as I have seen other facepainters use these who work with me and they are great!

I do believe people need to use brushes and see which is best suitable for them! But these are my personal favourites.

I am so glad you brought this up....
I have the same problem. Too much paint, glumpy on the outsides, thick lines where I wanted thin.. I found that some of it comes from the paint I was using..Seems some just go on nicer than others and some you have to work harder with. I have tried sooo many brushes lately looking for the Great Ones Almighty and am finding some that I am very happy with. Today I just bought some more... Lets see how they work... They are Royal and Langnickel soft grips with the clear acrylic handles from michaels for 2.99. I also got some liquidtex basics with a silver wooden handle in a pack for 7.99 at Aaron Brothers. These by far are my favs. Nice points.

This is where I get my brushes... they hold up well and last a long time. I like fat teardrops so I like the round stroke brushes instead of the ultra rounds.

Today I went to Micheal's and they had the Lowe Cornell on sale 40% off and a coupons for 20% off your entire purchase including sale items. I treated myself to 3 brushes a 4 and 6 round and an 8 filbert. I didn't get a chance to sit down and play with them until 10:30 this evening. I am now kicking myself for not getting a few more.

I have been playing with the cheap Artist Loft brushes because I got a big set of 24 for $4.99. I got them originally for a watercolor class I was to teach at the local recreation center, but there were not enough students for the class to make and I ended up with 102 pencils as well as these brushes. They have been OK to to work with, but the lines on my tear drops are so much better with the Loew Cornell. And the double dip flower that LJY shows on her videos went from ok to WOW with the change in brushes.

They didn't have a very big selection at the 2 stores local to me. I was hoping to find a rake brush, since I saw one used well at a demo at my guild meeting this week. I was tempted by the double filbert, but decided to go with the basics as my rounds are already wearing out.

But at one store they were clearancing out the snazaroo and I got one of the $12.99 sets for only $3.49, and because it didn't ring up as clearance I got the additional 20% off that as well. I got the bigger kit they had with the glitter gels too for only $5.50 before the coupon and the coupon worked for it too. It had tiny things of paint, but still a decent deal. I repotted them for a smaller portable pallette.

The royal brushes are absolutely brilliant! I wish I lived in America then I could visit the Michael's store! I have to really search to get brushes out here in UK! Smile

I use Royal and Loew Cornell myself and Mark Reid as I stated before, and I have a couple major brushes which I found absolutely useless once I got the Loew Cornell and Royal & Mark Reid and Davinci brushes. Davinci are brilliant for line work too.

They all work brilliantly with Diamond FX. Smile

I wish I could be part of the sales on the brushes, I want to buy more Loew Cornell brushes! Sad

I had one of those just cant sleep nights and decided to watch videos of face painting... came upon a 14 min youtube from sillyheather about different brushes and their strokes. I thought it was great info. Looks like I need to add another brush....
