FatMax/Tall Chairs...
Hello all
Ive been reading about and looking at the FatMax storage. I am confused because many of you say that you can use it as a table.
I am 5'10" and am always in full fairy garb when painting. When doing birthday parties, if there is a bar/island in the kitchen, I always stake it out for painting as I very much prefer to stand and paint. I usually seat small children on the counter itself (if they do not have a tall chair/stool) and have older children stand. I do not like sitting to paint, as I am wearing wings and have to turn the chair sideways to accomodate them, if it is a backed chair. Plus sometimes I am wearing a tight corset so it is unconfortable to bend forward.
I recently aquired a tall directors chair via Craigslist ($15!) so I am happy. This way I can bring a card table if needed and have a complete setup without using the clients countertop, etc.
Please, if someone could explain the FatMax to me that would be great. I am going to check them out at Home Depot and Lowes (if they are carried there)....
thanks!

thanks so much. i appreciate the photos to show where the setup FatMax aligns compared to your tall chair. it looks like it might actually work for me (a taller person who stands) after all! i will have to chec it out! looks like i could avoid bringing a table after all since it seems to create its own surface, with the pallettes. thanks again!

Posie, if you can make the jam, Debi and I both have Fat Max's! If you bring your tall chair, you can try them out.
Just one thought - and I am in the minority on this issue - I am only 5' 6" and my back hurts so badly after 1-2 hours of painting standing because I still have to bend slightly when using the Fat Max. But you really need to try it, because most actually find it more comfy, even the taller ones
See you on Sunday maybe?

I am 5'11" and checked it out. I don't think I could comfortably stand and paint and use the fatmax as a table, but that's just me. I'd have to dip down every time I want to use something off the table and that would kill over a few hours. =(
Re: FatMax/Tall Chairs...
i picked up the fatmax this morning. i am a little worried about being so tall and using it as a table but im going to play with it andf see what i can do. thanks all
Re: FatMax/Tall Chairs...
i used it the other day for apartuy. i was feeling rushed so didnt set up quite as i wanted. seemed a bit low but something to get used to i think.
Re: FatMax/Tall Chairs...
Being that tall...i think ..even for me...sitting is a real comfort...BUT...i did have my husband extend my tall director's chair by about 3"...i am maybe 5'51/2" ...by taking the caps off the legs and inserting wood dowels/broom handle in the ends..and put cap on those...it has helped..but there are days i wish it was even taller...but have thought to use a pillow or booster seat for the really small ones to bring them up to level....hope this helps...but i still think sitting is a great way with the fatmax...i just like standing from time to time....
Re: FatMax/Tall Chairs...
Mandi, what do you use to hold your chair to the fatmax? I see the hooks but I can't tell if if that's some kind of rubber band?
