*Mission Statement* of the Southern PA Face Painting Guild... please critique!
Our first step was to decide *why* we wanted to form a guild. Hence, our "mission statement". Feel free to use for your group, etc. (but not for profit motive, please).
I would really like some feedback from you all! Critiques, suggestions... all needed
Thanks, Barbie

MISSION:
1 – Provide Camaraderie and Educational/Professional/Emotional Support
By developing a non-competitive group identity we are better able to give and receive help when needed, and protect our own interests. We will refer bookings to each other, provide emotional support to each other, and help each other in “crisis” situations. Our jams will be face-to-face opportunities to continuously improve ourselves and to support each other.
2 – Establish Standards of Professional Business Practice
Our guild will establish, recognize, and implement written standards of professionalism, both artistic and behavioral. All guild members will work and behave professionally, and our professionalism will demonstrate our commitment to the art form.
3 - Create Standards of Materials & Safety
Whether painting as a labor of love or as a full time job, the use of quality materials coupled with a professional presentation will speak volumes to our community. We will have written minimum standards for materials and on-the-job safety practices.
4 – Elevate Quality of Art Form
Face painting in southern Pennsylvania may not be as prominent as it is in other more metropolitan areas, our southern United States, Australia, or the United Kingdom; we will work to increase appreciation for face painting as entertainment and as an art form, and an increased willingness to pay for that art. At our jams we will learn new skills, continually improve our abilities, and stretch our creative muscles; creating new standards for quality of art. New guild members, “apprentice”, will be tested for artistic ability to become “master artists”.
5 – Communicate to Customers
We hope to establish a bigger presence, and *create* our own market; pooling some of our efforts will yield a bigger result. Increasing awareness of professional face painters in southern PA - it is through this awareness that what we offer will evolve from being a perceived value to a realized one.

Hi Barbie, I absolutely love this statement! You can just smell a sweet scent from it. I'm just started in the gettysburg area, where would I find more information about our guild?

Thank YOU! I am trying to start a guild here in the Palm Beach County area of FL & found this helpful.
