Questions.....hope someone can help, please!

I have been asked to face paint two masquerade Mardi Gras masks. I would like to achieve a very shiney gold look, the effect similar to the silver mask that BluAngL83 recently posted, only gold. I also found a video on YouTube where an artist, goldiestarling glued cone like shapes and feathers to the side of her mask using eyelash glue. Has anyone done this, and if so, will it hold up for a whole night of dinner and dancing? Do you think eyelash glue will be strong enough or is there something else you would suggest? Also, is there a spray sealer that I can use once the mask is finished to make it more durable? I am so excited to do this, but want the masks to last throughout the night. thanks for any suggestions!!!

Eyelash glue will work... it holds eyelashes in place!! But what you are attaching can't be very heavy - as the glue has to dry with them in place - if they are heavy they slip before they dry.

Personally I've never used sealer or barrier sprays - I find face paint generally holds up fine with adults.

For a good shiny gold - Kryolan Interferenz Bronze.

I would suggest trying spirit gum. its stickier than eyelash glue..just from using latex scars and things ive tried..spirit gum is good stuff. but you will need to get remover for it also

I did this last year... feathers are attached with glitter tattoo glue

I've tried the glitter glue and it works well, and for gold, this is Mehron powder mixed with mega hold hair gel. Please excuse the actual design! This will be redone NICELY in the future! LOL Shouldn't really post experiments I guess!

YOu can use hairspray as a fixative over the top... not nice getting sprayed in the face but if it's adults who cares...lol
Mehron makes a fixative barrier spray... there are a few brands different brands work better with different paint brands.
I've heard if you layer green marble over snaz a few times they can swim in the facepaint.... hmmmm not sure about that one.
I've got Mehron powder that has an antiperspirant in it... you can put it on before and it does good to stop sweating from under the paint. You can brush it over the top too but it can take some of the pop off your colours.
Mehron Gold powder mixed ontop of any brand gold facepaint rocks.
Al of he metalic powders work this way.
I use glitter tat glue/ eyelash glue to stick the feather and gems on, works a treat.

Thanks so much everyone for your input. I really hope these masks turn out well as I am excited to do them! I am thinking about doing a couple trial runs on my practice head first.....will let you know how it goes!
