TAG 90 - Is my blond showing? Empty TAG 90 - Is my blond showing?

Post by pixieface Tue Dec 21, 2010 10:25 pm

Okay, I'm sure there is an obvious explanation for this.

During the dark ages of the last few weeks when dfx and wolfe white was nowhere to be found I went ahead and ordered a TAG 90 gm white cake from Metina. While I'm not particularly impressed with it on its own - it was a good value and will offer me better coverage over other colors than my beloved Paradise. So I guess it's a keeper. But then today I'm looking at it closer....

...can anyone tell me why there is a lid on the bottom of it that appears to screw on to the top lid?

So you can screw all your paints together like a tube. It makes it easy to transport. I'm not converted to the idea yet because I use a lot of different types of paint. Lucie Brouillard transfers hers into dollar store containers that screw together like that, then she lays them out chromatically.

Lol Pixie - No your blond is not showing, I thought the same thing when I got my first TAG 90. If you unscrew the bottom "lid" and take the top lid off another TAG 90 you can screw it into it so they make a stack! Smile I don't use them like that but I'm sure there are people who do.

Oh, doh - get it - I have camping "spice" containers like that (only smaller). Hey, crafty marketing idea on their part. Gotta admire good engineering whether we use it or not.

NOW that my sister - should garner you a high paying marketing job! Companies pay good bucks for that kind of creativity. Should we start a new thread...what do you really keep in your TAG bottoms (think very Calvin Kleinish)

lol!

LOL! You know, I bet we could come up with some CRAZY ways to use those bottom containers - maybe like a false-bottom suitcase, we could carry out covert face painting escapades! Yeah, a little silly, I know. Oh, my dreams of grandeur......007 I am not...

LOL! Maybe keep extra paint down there for those clients that want 500 kids painted in 1 hour... just unscrew & stamp!

My DFX white from Metina has a screw bottom also one of my rainbow cakes from SillyFarm has a screw bottom. I wondered what it was for and thought it might screw into tubes. I am a bleach blonde Razz

Oh, I love the change/money idea! I hate carrying my own money to my events. Smile

Only the 45's and 90's though. The smaller size doesn't.

Also if you get a few of them & put the containers into a palette type carrier where you don't need to have the lids on your paints. You can screw the lid & bottom together & have a new container ready to make your own split cake.

I wondered the same thing at first until I saw some site selling "stackable" containers then I figured it out. I do use a container where I don't need separate lids and I have made split cakes with all of my one-stroke lids!!

I have my black and white dfx stacked together, too. Saves space and time because they are the first I reach for.
