Split Cakes...What Brand? - Page 2 Empty split cake brands...Thank You from Rebecca! ;)

Post by Guest Fri Mar 11, 2011 1:45 pm

hi everyone...

thank you all for your input!!

ugh...i'm too beat to debate;)

so, on the issue of color combos...i'm just going to agree to disagree;)

of course donna dewberry is the queen of one stroke!! she is also a friend and mentor;) i'm assisting her at fabaic this year...and, i can't wait!!

just to be clear...when the arty cakes were designed, i specifically stayed away from one stroke designs and the term one stroke. the most popular designs, rose, tattoo rose, fire, peacock, crown, fish, dolphin...etc... are all designed from my heart, and have nothing to do with donna, or one stroke. gary cole coined the term one stroke for the abc's...and, i've never really agreed with it

of course jodi carr and her double loading had a powerful impact on face painting, and she is a very talented lady;)

lilly...thanks for the kind words...i did speak to marcela and silly farm today, and i can assure you that prisma cakes are not her favorite. marcela is a huge fan of the arty cakes, and has even designed a couple of the color combos herself;)

angie, I CAN NOT WAIT TO MEET YOU AND GIVE YOU A HUGE HUG!!!! thank you so much;) i actually cried when i read your post;) and, i do love teaching...i look forward to spending time with you at the fete;)
oxox

again, thank you so much for all of your input. i spoke to heather last night about all of your ideas...and, she sent me this, this morning.

In May 2011 Silly Farm, Rebecca and Arty Brush Cakes are launching the all new Arty Brush Cakes. The new ABC's will feature bigger containers and include a design sheet for each combination. The all new Arty cakes will have more of what you love for the same great price.

The new arty cake containers are longer and have a removable lid to make it easier to load your brush and keep your arty cakes in great condition. We appreciate your support and please know we take your suggestions seriously and we will continue to make product improvements and give you more for your money!

she also said she is open to wholesaling arty brush cakes to those wanting to distribute. simply give her a call. 954-472-5000

again...thank you so much, and please feel free to make suggestions anytime. i'm very proud of the arty brush cakes...i've spent countless hours trying to perfect them;) and,we want to offer you the best possible product! i know we come out with 2-3 new color combos every month. and, i am constantly coming out with new designs...and themes. please feel free to e mail me at my personal e mail artybrushstrokes@aol.com

Hi Rebecca,

Great news! I can't wait to see the new cakes. I love your color combos and would like to see them marketed in a way that makes them more competitive with the other options.

It was so nice taking your class last month in Long Beach and seeing you in Vegas. I really enjoyed trying your bubbles on Chris in Carolyn's class and watching you paint the model in the photo room. Attached are a few pix Smile

Rebecca, just keep reinventing yourself!

They are following in your shadows and aren't coming up with the ideas. Stay on top! Eventually, it will pay off!

I will suggest patenting if possible. Maybe a really cool packaging Wink I know patents only last so long and then copied again Sad

Post by cindy yee Wed Mar 16, 2011 1:48 am

I just want to say thanks to Rebecca and Arty Brush Cakes publicly. I learned how to face paint almost 2 years ago w/ the ABC's and copying any of Rebecca's designs I could find. I looked all over youtube and online and there were other one stroke artists like Donna D.- but well, the designs looked tole-arty and granny-ish ( don't bash me! just not my style! i love grandmas! I love Donna!)
I fell in love with Rebecca's fresh, beautiful and amazingly quick designs. I have taken many classes this past year with great master face painters but I benefited from Rebecca's the most. I really feel that being able to create one minute crowns & 3 minute amazing faces has helped me get so much of my business. I have started adding some of my own elements to her designs but it is hard to let something so easy and stunning go. I can't wait for Silly farms and the new Arty Cakes containers. That is really going to do it for me. I have all 3 brands of mini split cakes and they do all wear unevenly here and there based on the colors and pressure of my brush.

Hey Rebecca, I'm still finding my way in the FP world and love the ABC's used in the two eye masks and wings in your first post. Could you please advise the name of these ABC's so I can make an order? Thanks I'm looking forward to trying them out!!

Actually I love the green mask also, if I'm gonna splurge I should do a good job of it . . . just donn't tell my husband

Thanks for your help!!

I feel the same way. I don't care for the folk arty, tole painting style when face painting. Rebecca's style is much more dazzling to me.

I just must have missed this thread.
Rebecca, I know you put a lot of hard work into the arty cakes & you have sooo many wonderful combos! I do appreciate all you do for the face & body painting community. Thank you!

I'm also so stoked that the paints will come in larger containers without the lids & for the same price! cheers cheers cheers

I only just discovered these more-coloured-cakes...
Bought a small pallet of 5 containers from partyexplosion and have used it to try with Carnaval. You make all so awesome designs.... sigh....
Don't have too much time to practise, but will paint my (yes) legs again this summer ;-)

Rebecca-SO excited that the cakes are coming in larger sizes! That is fantastic news. I love all your color combos and don't think that the other companies hold a candle to all the different options. (I'm the kinda person who need options, lol!) I forgot who said it, but the vast majority of us know where the original design came from. It is such a wow factor and has made many of us stand out to our customers. I get complements everytime I use the arty and rainbow cakes! I'm still in my first few years and because of these, people think I'm wildly talented(if they only new, lol). Thank you so much!! It is something to be very proud of and I'm sorry it has gotten you bummed. More hugs from the south!

Something else I can't wait for is LaFete! I still have trouble with some things and I can't wait to take the class from the originator, how cool!! And on that note, any chance the NEW cakes will make a debut? Had to ask! Wink

The wings are done with the "Wings" ABC here: http://www.sillyfarm.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=3360

I can't say for sure what the masks are (I think maybe peacock) but I am sure about the wings since she made a post on FB about them.

Thanks so much Gina, although now that I've gone and had a look at Silly Farm (I had been trying to avoid it) my list is massive and I can feel my bank balance dwindling . . . but woohoo the excitement level of a new product is definately worth it, I only have a neon split so I'm about to be a proud owner of many more . . . just don't tell my husband!! Awesome work Rebecca! I can't afford the conventions yet, but I would love love love to see some videos. Yes, they'd really MAKE me buy ABC's. ...I know not everyone likes to make videos but maybe Heather could make some more with ABC's?

hmmm - i'm confused.... ( not unusual for me)

I love the look of your wings Rebecca, and I went to have a look at the wings ABC - I somehow expected there to be black on both sides..... but there isn't .... so I'm assuming each stroke... or each feather rather has to have two strokes to make up each side.
If this is the case.... damn... that's alot of work!
I'm wondering if you repeated the colours... like white in the middle, purple on both sides, then gold on both sides, then the black.... couldn't you do these feathers in one stroke?
Maybe I'm thinking too much...

Hi all,
Hi Rebecca,
I met Rebecca at Bodyssey in Calgary last summer and learned so much. It was amazing to watch how fast she could create masterpieces (and break them down for us). My fav was a sunset with flowers and fish-stunning. A whole table of ABC splits in real life was almost more than I could bear. (I usually only get to shop online and it was so amazing in real life.) I bought way too many, and I love them! I too love a longer cake, but did learn how to get a proper water ratio to work the cake from Rebecca.

i can't tell you how much your kind words mean to me!!

Tash..i'm not really sure what you mean?
But, each feather is like a leaf...you come down one side, then go up the other?

I can do a full set of wings in 20 min when i'm in a hurry

but, i'm sure there may be an easier way;)
