Getting paint off without the stain!
Well I got back from Fabbulas and it was awesome... so much to tell and show. But here is one tip I picked up from the model I body painted yesterday. She had been painted multiple times all weekend, several times a day even, and didn't have any color stain on her! And we're talking about a pale girl here. I asked her how she gets all that paint off without having a stain and she said she does 3 things:
First: Soap scrub (just plain ol bath soap)
Second: Olive Oil scrub (straight olive oil... she said it gets the paint out of your pores)
Third: Apricot scrub (I'm assuming the kind you get in the body wash/face wash area of the store)
She said her skin doesn't get raw from all of these and can do it several times a day! I plan on trying this out, especially since I've still got some stubborn purple stains on my collar bone from getting painted on saturday night!

Sounds like a good idea, olive oil is so good for your skin.
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
Great tips! I have to be careful w/ some greens. My eyelids stain easily.
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
Sounds good, will have to try that because I still have Heather's masterpiece lingering on my boobies lol

LOL Suzy. The only color that has lingered me is green too, Psalm.
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
Glad I found this thread. My husband was practicing unicorns and roses on my arms and the pink and red stained. I took a full shower not a half hour after he painted me and it still is there. Looks like I had been beaten up!!!
He used paradise red and pink. I have done them on him and my children and neither of them had stained, but for some reason mine seems to always leave pigment behind. Even the green and blue leave behind too and I even have to really scrub to get black and white off.
What can you do to prep the area if you know that the person is prone to staining? makeup foundation? powder?
I need to get to that olive oil scrub.... I have my day job tomorrow and I work at a bank!!!!! don't want to look molested.

Lots of colours stain me, especially on the inside of my arms. I rub on lots of hand lotion and let it soak right in before I paint myself and it seems to help. I think because my skin is dry the colour soaks right in.
Also, I always lay down a base of a non-staining colour underneath a colour that is prone to staining. Although, on my practice head the DFX dark green went right through a coating of hairspray AND a gold base and left a gem-shaped stain for quite a while.
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
you could maybe get it down to 2 steps
1. soap scrub
2. olive oil and sugar/salt scrub (take a few Tbs. of salt/sugar and add enough oil to make it move well)

Tear Free shampoo is my go to for washing off faces. It takes off anything dark! I rarely have any staining when I use the Tear Free shampoo. I've tried wipes and it works, but I always have stains. The shampoo is a must!

Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
I used tear free shampoo...(I have 2 babies, 3 year old and 1 year old, so I have loads of it around) still couldnt get it off.
The oil helped a little. I will just have to prep myself more before I offer myself as a canvas.
At least my face isn't green. Even though it is 90+ outside now, it is cold enough inside to wear a sweater....so no one actually sees my red blothes.

Bummer! It always comes off for me
Try lotion and then give it another scrub after 30 minutes

That's a good tip, olive oil always work wonder's on the skin, I personaly use and recomend to my clients first: with your finger tips gentle scrub the design with regular body lotion, then baby whipe, and then wash with water, but I will try the olive oil!!!
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
i wished i would have read this before tonight. I painted the dino face in my avatar- washed it off and my eyes were still blue. I looked sick and J wasnt happy when we went out to dinner for our monthly date night. I looked sick! the waiter even asked if I was feeling ok. I was just cracking up inside. never realized I stained so easily!
soap, olive oil and apricot! great combo. im gonna smell great and look unstained.

Olive oil has gotten biro pen and permanent pen off my daughters skin - it's really a savior.
Re: Getting paint off without the stain!
I first take most off with babywipes..
or just rub in babyshampoo till you get a blurr of shampoo and paint and then wash it off with cold (at least not hot) water..and repeat if necessary (I don't think I wrote that correctly)
this works fine for me for all colours but I guess it depends on your skin type too..
