New to the forum and face painting
Hi!I'm Kim So nice to be here. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and ya'll are a bastion of face painting knowledge AND soooo nice and helpful!
I have been an artist for many years and during a recent work event I was looking for a face painter. In my 9 to 5 job I work on almost no budget so I looked into doing it myself.
Boy do I have a lot to learn. I bought a little Snazaroo kit and did a snake on my son's face. I'll post it later. Ya'll will laugh at how awful it is. I'm not used to my canvas wiggling and scrunching and being an uneven surface. That being said I'm in love with it and I will continue to practice.
Thanks for having me! I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Kimmy, welcome to the forum!
Rest your hand on the top of your models head. This will help steady the wiggling.

Thanks for the tip Psalm. However, I think I'm going to need rope and duct tape for my son. I figure if I can get it right on him, I should be able to paint on anybody. LOL!

I cannot believe just how squirmy some kids can be! Distraction, firm hand on top of head, and pinky resting on their cheek - those are the things that help me a little. Mostly distracting the!

Welcome, and old saying is you can catch wild critters by putting salt on their tails, I wonder, can we just sprinke some salt on the wigglely ones?
Re: New to the forum and face painting
LOL - I'll try the salt trick on my BF next time and tell you how it works - GRIN! Welcome Kim! Look forward to your posts. I'm a newbie too. Just did my first face on someone else last week and it was a bit of a disaster. But I too am hooked. The folks here are awesome and there's lots of wisdom and support.

Love the salty advice. I just got my practice head in yesterday. My DH gave me quite a look. " You ordered a head?" he said.
