Ever had it up to yer kneck with 'helpful suggestions'??

I suffer from uteral fibroids and have been waiting for them to be removed. Meanwhile, I live in the hippiest part of Ireland so you can imagine the 'medical advice' and 'helpful suggestions' I've been getting of late. I finally got so worked up after my sisters friend suggested some sort of angel therapy, channeled my great grand mother (I kid you not!!) and said it was all linked to a)the children I'll never have, 2) the sins of my mother, and all other previous female ancestors and 3) I was unsatisfied with the unfulfilled ambisions of my life .... that I was moved to email my doctor the following


Dear Dr. Sullivan

I need to get these fibroids out of me now. If I have to suffer one more well meaning hippy friend suggesting, homeopathy, reiki, crystals, angel therapy, regression therapy, being slain in the spirit or re-birthed, I'm going to loose the plot and kick someone in the Shakras!!!.

Just seeing if you had a date for my proceedure.

Well done! Hopefully all the sins of your ancestors will mean that you will have total success.
I thankfully don't have too many suggestions like you've had, I have more curious questions and 'have you tried ....' to my issues (see previous thread).

There are some serious crackpots out there! Angel Therapy? Seriously? Does this include Jaquelyn Smith, Farahh Fawset and Kate Jackson? LOL

I'm as new age and "Hippy" as they come- there is a time for "energy" and a time for "medicine." This is why alternative therapies get a bad rap... People not knowing when to admit that this herb, that angel or the other crystal might be better of set aside in favor of putting a cast on the broken leg.

Hopefully your Dr takes the hint!

I once had a "crystal" person tell me that the osteo-arthiritis/calcification spur/Osgood schlatters disease diagnosis I was 10 years old, in my right knee was because I had issues with my mother????? WTF?

Your email is hilarious! I wore some socks with anatomically correct and labeled "bones" on them to a recent halloween party and had someone try to spend the next 20 minutes telling me how touching parts of my feet would "cleanse my toxins." No thanks, that's what my liver is for!

I do know how you feel.... my "just a headache" that's lasted 2.5 years has had numerous suggestions for remedies. Sigh... I get they are trying to mean well, but dang.

He did, he did . Actually, my best friend is a homeopathist and understands if I can't get the treatment on the medical card or insurance... then I cant' afford it.

I go to a great church now where they believe in all that God has to offer, but don't believe you have to be "freaky weird".
