Way to go!!! (*Envious!*)
You must be in the States then. They only have a Stanley version here of that style, and it isn't really comparable.
Congratulations! And great deal!!!

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
I'm still hunting for my perfect case... I'm using a small Stanley toolbox, but it's not nearly big enough for my kit!
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
Excellent! I love mine! It's exactly the right size and shape for my stuff.
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
So envious I looked it up online again. It seems that the store, Menards, has cornered the market and they are the only place that sells them.
At least they are selling them online now (last time I checked they weren't). So for anyone within the US, they will ship to you. But I live in Canada.
My BIL has a US PO Box he kindly lets me use for orders, but sadly Menards states on their website that they will not ship to PO Boxes, only residential US addresses.
Online shopping should be more satisfying than that.

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
Suzie, Where do you get the boxes you use to put all your paint in? Are the compartments fixed, or do the sides move? I either want to go all suare tag (too much dough) or am considering doing this. I am so sick of the rounds! I may go look at this box too, I have a fat max, but my daughter wants her own for the airbrush and glitter tats, so I may give her mine and switch, I really want drawers!

Did you look at Jess's new FatMax version? It is very similar to this, with pull-out drawers. I can't find it available online in Canada or the US (just UK so far), but it may be in stores, or coming soon.

This Plano one is nice and tall though, to work from standing up. I'm not sure how tall the 'newer' FatMax is. But since I can't get to the Menards/Plano one, I may have to buy a FatMax.

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
I have not seen that one either in the US...may have to go compare. Sigh, I think it is a never ending search for perfection...it is kind of fun, but not fun, but fun.
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
I have both units..the one from menards is taller and lighter. I love both of them..but the fat max is much more sturdy..and you can use it as a table and work out of it..
the one from menards i used a table on one side and the case on the other side when I needed extra stuff that wasn't on the table...both great cases...

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
So Barb, can you fit more stuff in the FM?
Is the Plano one from Menards not able to be worked out of? Or used as a table also? It seems the right height not to stoop over so much (I'm 5'6) when you're standing. Also, I like that it doesn't take up as much space when open.
I see Jess's new style of FM is similar to the Plano/Menards case but I don't know the measurements or weight or durability.
It's nice that you have both, to compare. I'm surprised that you like the FM better, being that it's heavier and takes up more space. But I guess if you can't work out of it (Menards)...
Though, I think Suzy uses hers as a table.
Thanks for input! I wish I could compare them side-by-side.
YOU'RE EXACTLY RIGHT!

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
so where are the pics of everyone’s case after you’ve painted them? I want to see more .....please.
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
i don't have mine painted...i took my car door magnet and had a copy made and laminated it...stuck it to the front of my fat max...but i have not painted it..i put a a large black beach towl over the table top when I paint....
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
I don’t have a Menard’s here in Nashville but they have free shipping (says it takes 6 to 8 weeks for delivery : ( but it’s free shipping, I was thinking of doing something like that too. I don’t want to outgrow my design....or take a kid-like case to a night club. several people mentioned they had done theirs up and would post pics, so I’d still love to see them. I may paint the beige part a solid color and maybe hot glue some gems/crystals to bling it out just a bit.
Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
I couldn’t find the newer version of the Fat Max on line.

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
Hello Everyone,
I don't have a car now and I walk or bus to places where I paint. I really like the Plano workstation 860 that some of you have. I went to Menards and looked at it, seems great for face painting but I have a serious concern and I am hoping those of you that have one can give me your opinion. What I am concerned about are these things.
It is plastic and so are the tires and hinges. I go over a lot of sidewalk bumps, cracks and some curbs. I try to be careful when going very these but you can't always see them. I also take the very bumpy bus.
1 - DO YOU THINKT IS STURDY ENOUGH TO HANDLE GOING OVER THESE THINGS WITHOUT THE PLASTIC HINGES CRACKING?
2 - Are the wheels sturdy or do you think they could Crack or break if I went over a curb quickly?
3 - Can you tell me the demensions of the lid and drawers, I didn't measure at the store and I have to take a cab to it.
4 - After using your for awhile does it still hold together and last through winter since it is plastic
Sorry, for so many question but I really need something like t his and I live in Wisconsign so it will be going through the snow sometimes.
THANK YOU
Snazzy

Re: My super fantactic face painting case!!
Snazzy, my Pelican gun case seals (no chance of water entering on a slushy wet walk, it is sturdy as far as wheels, handle, etc. (lifetime guarantee). It has a small footprint in elevators, etc, as it stands on it's end. I am not gentle enough with my stuff to deal with a craft & go, or regular plastic. If you scope out Craigslist, etc. you should be able to score a deal. I got mine darn near new, for $50, and much sturdier than I have seen in the alternatives...
