A Silly Question, But..
Where do you buy the metal briefcases from? I was going through the set-up thread from a while ago (i do it all the time for inspiration, lol), when I saw like, 5 different people using a metal briefcase. I was just wondering where you found them/purchased them.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: A Silly Question, But..

Re: A Silly Question, But..
You can find them in hardware stores - places like Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, etc. They are actually pretty common and not THAT expensive

Yes, in Home Depot. They have them for way to much $ on SF. Home Depot is a much better price.... beware... they're in the same saction as the Fatmax, so you'll have to resist

But they are a lot cheaper so... if you are on a budget you should be able to resist.

I know that you are 13, so just want to throw my 2 cents in... although it is WONDERFUL to have a cool case or a fatmax, I think it is wiser to spend the first $$$ on your raw materials, and also your marketing. Then, when you have some great momentum going, I would work on extra's!

Good Morning Izzy,
If you don't mind I'd like to chime in. Do you at this point have a sufficient way to carry your supplies right now? If yes, then I would say maybe hold off on buying a case right now. If no, then maybe to save yourself some money look into cheaper forms of carriers. Just as effective like a shoppers tote with wheels and a handle. They have them at places like Marshalls and Home Goods, Bed Bath Beyond, Linens and Things and they are only $19.99
and you could put the other money into your paints and getting good brushes.
I had one to begin with but outgrew it when my business really grew and I was needing to increase the level of my supplies and carry more things. That's when I made the decision to invest in a Fat Max.
I know there is a temptation when you see alot of us on here talk about the new things we've obtained or added to our kits, but for most of us we have had alot more time to grow our business or have an alternate source of income to draw from.
I am so proud of you for what you are doing and I know you will be wise in growing your business and be very successfull. I showed my daughter your website and she thought it was great that someone her age had done that. It has re-inspired her to pick up her paints again.
Here is a pic of the tote and all of the stuff I was able to cary in it. They come in colorful designs so I am sure you could find one to fit your personality.
So I hope this helps and I wish you all the best.
Tamara

Re: A Silly Question, But..
I'm in agreement. I was just being silly about the fatmax:-)
I used a small plastic briefcase for the 1st 3 yrs till it broke. Then I got the metal briefcase, used it for 2 yrs till my kit outgrew it & a few months ago I finally got a fatmax.
As far as paints, I started w/ the mini snaz kit & then slowly added brands & colors to my kit. My best investment was my paintbrushes.
So, if you follow my timeline, by the time you're 18 you'll have the most impressive kit out there
I'm also super impressed w/ you. At 13 I was still playing w/ Barbies

Re: A Silly Question, But..
Thanks all. I actually have this right now:
It's really just a giant block, lol. My mom found it for me at a yard sale for $4. Don't get me wrong, I love my giant block, it's just getting kind of small and vvvvvveeerrrryyyy, believe it or not.

Re: A Silly Question, But..
I used a train case, (your block is a train case) for about 3 years. At the 2 year mark, I bought another one and used them both. Before that I used a plastic Caboodles case, that looks like a pink, hard plastic, suitcase for almost 10 years (my daughter uses it now.)
What you have is perfect. You will grow and adapt to your needs when necessary. You will also find, like the rest of us I'm sure, that you will buy something to use, but it doesn't work well for your needs and you end up with a useless purchase. So do some research, think about how you would use it properly and how it would work best for you, before you buy.
I purchased a metal case, like the snaz one, at walmart for 19.99. I use it for Bday parties.
Good luck on your set up!
