What do you wear when you paint?
Just wondering if you have a specific uniform, crazy hat, full costume, etc.
Re: What do you wear when you paint?
I wear very colorful shirts(so splattered paint doesn't show up) & jeans, black slacks, capris, etc. It's very weather dependant(super hot is a tank top). Sometimes a skirt or dress... leggings under the dress if it's near the ocean... one good breeze taught me this was needed I like to dress very artsy. Not crazy about dressing funny. I always make sure my tops aren't too low or I have on a good cami(don't want to flash the kiddies).
I tried doing shirts with my business name, but didn't like the quality I got. It's on my future list to have some good quality t-shirts, long sleeve shirts & tanks w/ my company on them.

As the Sparkling Lady I usually wear a very artsy outfit that includes a sparkly skirt. I ahve several. I am not a clowny person so I don't really like silly; I L O V E kids so I am very chatty, positive and smiley.
I sing. I sing silly songs and recite funny poems.
Here's one that everybody can try:
ONCE, when I was VERY young,
I put a worm RIGHT ON MY TONGUE!
I didn't like the taste ONE BIT!
And SO, I didn't SWALLOW it!
(I wait a beat for the vomit noises to subside).
But OH! It makes my MOTHER SQUIRM!
Because SHE thinks I ATE THAT WORM!
(Ogden Nash is STILL my favorite poet).
I learned that one when I was 5.

Re: What do you wear when you paint?
Well, there's teh costume in my avatar.... I also have a "winter" (warmer) costume that I wear for outdoor events when the weather gets cold. I also have another clown character called Freddie Farensquair that I use for sports events. Freddie is a referee clown. And I have one non-clown character called Cadenza who does a more "music education" kind of show.... there are some pictures on my website
Re: What do you wear when you paint?
It varies A LOT! I used to dress up very colourfully, but lately it depends WHERE I will be working and the time of year.
I dress up colourfully for birthdays - striped socks, matching t-shirt, wild colourful jacket, etc. with face painted to match.
For outdoor events - long-sleeved white Tilley shirt (UV protection built in), painter pants (nylon with lots of pockets), zippered hooded vest with kangaroo pockets, and my Tilley hat (the duckbilled one with the flaps) to protect my head and neck. Face always painted.
Winter indoor events - black slacks, white turtle neck, and a decorative vest suitable to the event (I have embroidered, applique, etc. with winter and Christmassy themes).

Re: What do you wear when you paint?
I've just nixed my costumes (princess, pirate, rag doll) in favour of an all over fun/cute/artsy look. I have an array of about knee-length skirts - plain black, yellow with black polka dots, white with black designs etc - that I'll pair with a cute top, either flowers/fun hair band/coloured extensions in my hair, cute boots/"dressy" crocs/flats, and my face painted.
If I'm at a PPF I'll add an apron, and if I'm at a public pre-paid event, I'll usually wear my fanny pack to hold phone/keys etc.

Re: What do you wear when you paint?
Ohh, anyone willing to share photos..??
I wear the same thing all the time. A colourful skirt with leggings underneath and a black top. I would love wear something more 'arty' I just don't know what.
The other thing I always wear is a flower in my hair... kinda goes with the name Daizy and I love them!

I don't take photos while I work, so this is about as close as I can get to a photo of what I wear - dragon motif shirt over coordinating tee, face painted to match the dragon design on the shirt.
I've got a collection of shirts I inherited from my brother - superheroes, skulls, dragons, etc. that I wear in the summer for indoor jobs.

Re: What do you wear when you paint?
I don't have any pics of me as I paint. I've had pics taken by parents, but never seen them.

I just got them from a local Dollar Store.
I dont tend to wear them too much anymore as the get in the way, I dont know how many times I have knocked my water over with them.
Re: What do you wear when you paint?
Haha, I'd bought a couple of pairs way back when because I thought I'd want to be a fairy princess...never did. Then I contracted for another painter, who's "thing" is fairies, and I wore wings to paint...and spent the entire bloody time knocking things off the table. Haven't worn them since!
Re: What do you wear when you paint?
Me I wear my shirt with my logo on it & my apron. I'm working on a snazzy new look.
Re: What do you wear when you paint?
I wear a red boiler suit. You know, the overalls a mechanic wears but bright red and I wear a red sparkly cap with a peak on top. It protects my clothes and it looks a little 'industrial work wear' but with a pop to it. The kids are quiet intrigued by it and ask me why I wear it and I tell them it's to protect my clothing.

Re: What do you wear when you paint?
Haha, Maurs your post reminded me of this - on Canada Day we have always done one local event to which I wear (and my kids hate this) a bright red pair of adult-sized Osh Kosh B'Gosh shortalls with a white t-shirt, with small Canadian flags in my hair/hat (they are actually on toothpicks and are meant to put in cheese, I found them at the dollar store). I did buy one of those umbrella hats that has Canadian flags on it, but haven't yet had the nerve to wear it. It looks really ridiculous. But so much fun!
As for regular events, I am considering getting some polo/golf shirt done with our new logo on them. With black slacks, I want to look neat and tidy and I think it will look professional.
For the scarecrow festival that we do each year, I have a nice denim button-up shirt that has scarecrows and pumpkins embroidered on it (Northern Reflections I think). It looks nice and fits the event.
