Hey Guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Erin and I am VERY new to face painting. My husband and I have decided to go into the business after realizing we spend way too much time at festivals and carnivals, and we hardly ever see any face painting booths around. We love painting our children's faces along with family and friends, and are huge Halloween buffs, so it fits us perfectly.
I am proud to say that our paintings are comparable to most we see around town and I hope we have little trouble getting our business off of the ground.
I appreciate all of the tips on this site and am very, very grateful for all of the threads posted on here.

I wonder if you don't see Face Painters at your local festivals is because the organizers have made the cost too prohibitive for a face painter who uses proper face paint, good hygiene methods, and carries event insurance.
I applied to see if I could do face painting for our local Pride Parade last year. The organizers wanted $900 from each vendor to put up a tent and sell our wares. I will apply this year as an entertainer, because that is what I am. I enhance their venue. They just don't see it...yet.
