My first body painting October 30th
I was just hired to do my first body painting on October 30th. The woman is having a party and wants to be an Avatar character. I am getting an airbrush and light blue paint for the base. My problem is:
What do I do to prep her skin so the paint does not stain or take days to come off?
I am sure she wants it to last the night of dancing but no longer then that.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim

Congrats! I just bought a 'panther brow and ears' from Jodi Carr in hopes of painting an Avatar soon.
Call Marion Brown...she gave an airbrush class at Bodyssey in Calgary. She's in your neck of the woods and will be a great help. I don't have an airbrush, but she sure inspired me to get one! You can use water based paints, but let her explain it. Something about making the paint the consistency of 2% milk I think she said.

Re: My first body painting October 30th
My standard is to ask she shower and shave the night before and that she moisturise well then but NOT the next morning. Also, using a body scrubber on elbows & ankles helps as generaly its the dry, older, thicker skin areas that paint can linger on.
But of course not to be too oily as then your paint won't take on the skin at all!
Also the big tip on getting it off is to stand in the shower with liquid soap (even fairy dishwash!) and really lather up, DRY, before getting wet in the shower, if that makes sense. Then have a normal showe but still lots of soap and a body scunche scrubber thing.
