First painting today with new paints

I will be painting today for the first time since I got my new paints. It is for our local humane society and it is outside of the grocery store where I work. I am going to try to get some pictures to post. It is raining here but we will be under a shelter. I am looking forward to it and hope the rain doesn't deter parents from letting their kids get painted.

It was a very nasty and windy day, pretty chilly too. It's embarrassing but I only got to paint 3 kids today. The parents all wanted to get inside (we were outside a grocery store) and I can't really say that I blame them. I did get a couple of pictures but just got home from work so hopefull I can get them up tomorrow. The two girls got butterfly masks of course (both neon) and the little boy got a kitty cat. They were happy. Oh yeah, and I have a tentative birthday party in November, so if nothing else, I consider that an accomplishment.

Well done!!! Shame about the weather though

I know what you mean about the weather, I'm in Northern Indiana and the festival I was painting at got rained out today . But hey, it's experience you didn't have before and you may have gotten another gig out of it! I would call that a success. Keep it up!

YEAH for the win on the tentitive party. Did you get their contact info? If so, follow up quickly & get the date nailed down. I'm glad I live in FL & Have a few more months for outdoor events. This is our comfortable season & we have a lot more outdoor stuff.

As for the birthday party, I work with the mother, so I see her all the time. I know our weather is getting cooler and cooler but there are alot of (small) festivals in the next few months and I am going to do my best to get in there. The other woman who does face painting here uses Walmart face paint and although I would hate to take her business, if she wants to do it on a regular basis she should invest in professional paints. She doesn't do birthday parties or anything like that to the best of my knowledge.

Bummer you didn't get a lot of business, but a birthday party is totally worth it! Good job!
