what's the difference? (gold)
Between wolfe's aztec gold and regular metallic gold?
Also, what about the DFX metallic gold and old gold?
What is your favorite gold and which brand "pops" the most? I know I asked this before several months ago and I ended up getting Kryolan gold for whatever reason. It's ok, but now I am wondering about the others..

Re: what's the difference? (gold)
For what I know is Wolfe Aztec Gold and DFX Old gold and Kryolans Inteferenz cobber(?) more or less the same. And the metal gold is almost as the metal yellow (one is one the warmer side and the other the cold side).
Re: what's the difference? (gold)
At Bodyssey, they had a gold powder (Mehron) that they were using with a gold. (Kryolan I think( ... the paint looked like liquid gold! Lilly Walters was using it and it looked great. Maybe pm her to see what exactly it was.
Re: what's the difference? (gold)
I used Graftobians gold powder for this, but I have heard it is about the same at Mehrons.

ohh that is gorgeous lonewolf!
I think I will buy some of the powder and mix it with the kryolan I already have!

Re: what's the difference? (gold)
ok it was this thread where Tash says she mixes it right in on top of the cake. (hopefully she'll see this thread and chime in if she premixes it first with the liquid!)

I do this with silver and gold powders, I just sprinkle a little lightly onto the top of the cake then work it like I normally do with my brush.

Re: what's the difference? (gold)
You can do both! If you put just a tiny amount on your cake, it adds a boost. But, the powder isn't water soluble, so it won't work straight up with water. The dipped in metal look comes from mixing with the mixing liquid.
Re: what's the difference? (gold)
Yeah, you just put some of the powder on top of your cake and mix into the cake with a little water if you want to intensify the colour.

For my new Terminator (my avatar is my old one!), I use TAG silver on the face, and then lightly brush the Mehron silver powder on top. As long as you do not let any powder fall from the face (messy!) it works wonderfully
