Hi from Albuquerque, NM!

Hi fellow facepainters, new and established! I am happy to have stumbled upon this site. I hope to learn many things about the facepainting world as time goes by. Here's my story in a nutshell. Last year my family and I attended the Kodak International Balloon Fiesta that is held here every October. My daughter wanted her face painted. The woman painting her face was a true artist. I've seen some very unimpressive facepainters over the years who charged way too much for the work they did, but she was NOT one of them. She made my daughter's face look so magical and it was worth every penny! It sparked my curiosity to see if I could do something like that- I do have a knack for art and have always been creative, but I have never been sure what to do with it. My search is over. I went to a local craft store and found an inexpensive Snazaroo face paint kit and I was hooked! It's been one year this month since I got the fever for facepainting. Since then I have purchased professional-grade paints, and I have been lucky enough to find a wonderful mentor here in my town who has helped me get several paid jobs. I love to challenge myself creatively, but especially, I love how happy children are when they like the work I've done. It is very gratifying. Someday I want to attend the FABAIC convention in Florida! Cheers!
