Just need to vent a little!

Friday night after diner, we went my husband, my daugther and I to Toys R us. We wanted to check out for a new bike for her.
On our way back home, we were ended by a truck at the red light!!!!

Fortunately, everyone is doing good, no injuries, we was all belted.

The truck driver said he was sorry, he was distracted 'cause is was on the phone!!!!

I'm just mad, I am a really safe driver, and getting my car broken by stupid people drives me crazy! And we are lucky that it is only materail damages!!!

The good part here is that, I have to say that I was impressed by the way it works here in the US.
When the police officer arrived and figured out that a child was there, even if she was looking good (beside she was sleepy 'cause it was late), he called the ambulance to do a check-up. Then the ambulance arrived, and a fire truck and 2 more police cars. Was a bit too much but it made me feel really good.

I'm waiting now to be able to put my car to get fixed. I feel so bad when I look at the damages.

I'm sorry that it happened to you guys. People should be paying attention to driving not their phone. I'm glad that you are all safe. Vehicles can be replaced, people can't. I have had similar things happen to us, and I don't envy the hassle that you must now go through to get your car fixed and get back on track. Hugs Helen

There is my poor car, ... Not so bad considering that we was ended by a big Ford 350 truck...

And yes honestly I think they should change the law and make unlawful being on the phone while driving.

There in Illinois, it is now unlawful to be on the phone while driving when you are in a school area, its not enough, if you don't have an headset, you shouldn't being on the phone at all while driving.

Its the case in France, you're not supose to eat, drink or being on the phone while driving, maybe it is because most of the cars in France are manual transmission, but, my point of view is that even with an automatic transmission you're not ready to react fast if you have a phone or a cup of coffee in your hand!

Some people just think that they are not the ones the rules apply too. It's completely irresponsible! This kind of lack of respect for others really is a sore point for me. My husband was almost ran over by someone just the other day, not only on the phone but had head phones on, doing her makeup and coming out of Starbucks drive-through with a coffee in one hand! He was wondering how she was even steering/ driving at all . It really sucks to have to go through all the expense and inconvenience due to other people's stupidity. I am sorry you had to go through this too. (fume)

One of my husband co-worker was killed so months ago, she was driving her motorcycle when a women in her car runned the stop light as she was on the phone and doing her nail polish!!!!!

In Denmark it is illegal to use your mobile while driving, unless you have one of those devices where you don't have to hold you mobile, neither while speaking og "dialing" the number. You get a fine if you are caught talking in a normal mobile while driving...

I think it's illegal in Colorado too, for sure texting is. But please! a little common sense and it wouldn't have to be.

around here where i live i swear drivers are the worst in the US> i have seen so many people running extremely red lights and most are on their telephones.

i think phones shoudl not be allowed on while you are in the car. i am glad you and your family are ok. i understrand your frustration

So sorry for ya'll. I'm praying it's all taken care of quickly & there's no lingering injuries. My hubby's car was totaled by a careless driver a year ago & now he has horrible back & neck troubles.
We also lost a close friend 3 yrs ago in a motorcycle accident when a school bus pulled in front of him. Three young kids w/o a dad. Turned out the lady shouldn't have been driving the bus because of a poor driving record.

I'll tell you what..... It makes me think that we must cherish each day that we have with our families. We never know what life may bring or how much time we have left here on this earth.
