Holiday Design Question Empty Holiday Design Question

Post by melisadill Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:49 pm

So, I've heard many times, don't worry bout a themed event cuz rarely do they choose that theme. Is it true for holiday themes as well? And are there some holidays that people go for more than others? I'm sure halloween is a given, but what about the smaller ones maybe like St. Patty's Day or Easter? I didn't really think about that till the Tag game. Should we all be working on fall & winter designs and having choices for those of us that use the display boards?

Thanks ya'll! flower

you MIGHT want to have a couple of things for Halloween and Christmas, but it certainly doesn't need to be a lot.

Holiday Design Question Empty Re: Holiday Design Question

Post by Guest Thu Aug 12, 2010 10:39 pm

For Christmas season I do have a sheet of seasonal designs that I put on my display and in my book - but that is the only time I put up "special" designs.

Snow, Santa, Reindeer, holly, etc.

It actually is one of my Design Sheets that are available (I also have a Halloween one).

Holiday Design Question Empty Re: Holiday Design Question

It is limited how much one can work I find there is in Halloween, since it is just one day, but then normally that is scary designs.
For Christmas I am normally booked through November and December at company Christmas parties. I bring some Christmas/Winter designs (think I posted them on this page somewhere), but most people want the normal designs, but find the other very fun to comment.
As a side note: you get some strange looks from people in November when you are at the gas station and so, dressed as Santa's helper. In December people just smile =)

Holiday Design Question Empty Re: Holiday Design Question

I get lots of special requests for Christmas, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, & sometimes Thanksgiving(USA). I find I do Halloween all year round as my scary faces are getting pretty popular w/ my regular kids.
To make it easier I have holiday theme masks & butterflies, spidey guy &... yes... skulls. Holly looks great in many design.

Yes, holidays are the "theme" exception. I find everyone wants theme designs.
